| Developers and Windowed Mode Gentlemen, It is common knowledge that many induviduals play more than one account per computer. It is quite common in the high end game actually. For the longest time this was only possible with the use of EQ Windows which was a previously banable offense. Recently, SOE has reversed course and acknowledged that windowed mode is acceptable and un-banned anyone who was banned for using EQ Windows and implemented thier own form of windowed mode. However, the native windowed mode within Everquest is sorely lacking, it is not friendly and often ends up freezing the mouse, locking up other applications or crashing Everquest itself. EQ Windows is leaner and cleaner code. It was not forced upon an application that was not designed for windowed mode and therefore is much more stable and friendly. On behalf of the multi-boxing community I implore you to make some form of arrangement with the authors of EQ Windows to implement thier application as the answer to windowed mode while scrapping the native code. |

| http://www.eqwindows.com/ Sony: You can visit the EQW site here. You can contact the coder here: justsomedude@hotmail.com Now, why don't you take the cost of a few LoY subscriptions and buy a real working window for your currently unstable one. |

| I don't think what VI did was ever intended to be used for 2 boxxing. For what it was intended it is a pretty good tool, for me I can't stand windowed mode especially on raids. I use the alt-enter when I need to research something on the web. No where did they ever say "This is so you can 2 box your account" I think it was more just a way to keep normal people who only play 1 account from having to download a 3rd party prog to run there game and do research. I remember them saying they "might optimize it for multiple accounts in the future", but thats about it. What they did do is not exactly easy, being able to go from full screen to windowed and back is not just something you throw together in a day. Especially for the EQ Graphics engine we all know and love. If you wanna 2box use EQW ... it's a pretty simple solution. If they didn't want you to do it, it would still be a bannable offence, wouldn't it?

| I agree totally. I don't use eqw/alt tab to run more then one toon. I have 5 PC's I don't need to run more then one EQ toon on a PC. I DO like to be able to use an MP3 player they doesn't suck. I DO like to be able to read message board and check websites on my main PC from time to time etc. It really is amazing that verant cannot even make running windows work correctly when a guy working in a his basement with a few free hours can make it work FLAWLESSLY. I have been using EQW when possible instead of official windowed mode because quite frankly the verant solution stinks. |
