Stances similiar to those available in Shadowbane(which made playing a melee FAR, FAR more interesting and fun) could be a nice addition. The problem with a simple defensive stance for warriors that say, increased defense by 20% and decreased offense by 20%, would be used every moment by every tanking warrior. But as long as the ups and downs are balanced so that no one stance is always superior, it could work. Say a defensive stance that decreased damage taken, but also decreased hate and damage dealt

>>Make Defensive, Evasive, Agressive and Precise all have 0 refresh time there would be no need to heal anyone, ever, then. Just give your warriors taunting weapons and sic them on whatever it is you're after, have them mashing the evasive button, and everyone else stand back for a couple minutes, then do whatever.

Can anyone please explain to me... ...why a permanent defensive/evasive would matter in the grand scheme of things? Who here performs tank switches and on what mobs? Even if you do perform tank switches, it rotates around the use of AE taunt, which is hardly what I'd call "skill". Having the current four "give and take" warrior disciplines infinitely usuable would not really change the game much. It would allow for a bit more fun, as we'd need to adapt to changing conditions and would be able to. Also, to the newbies out there, all evasive does is lower a mobs ability to hit you by about 10-30%, while reducing your chance to hit by about the same amount. I've died plenty of times while evasive... ;/

looks like there might be some "spells" of interest on lucy to the pure melee http://lucy.fnord.net/newspells.html...-01%2002:00:12 I think they will have ether a reuse timer or a sta cost. Personaly i would rather see them have a sta cost associated with them. it would add some flavor to the system as it stands. some of them look like they could be for hybirds too but even if we do not even get one to play with it would be nice to see warriors/monks/rouges get some thing fun.

How did you know I was a paladin? /boggle But anyway I did not saw that I wanted or need disciplines, or in fact that these where new disciplines. What they look like to me is melee only "spells" like abilities similar to a monks flying kick Example: The one called tenacity Mana cost 0 Recast time 0 Cast time 0 Fizzle time 0 Duration 1.3 mins/level 1 - 20.5 mins level 65 Message when cast on you: you gain protection form stunning attacks Wears off: your protection fades Look perfect for a warrior or a monk that is pulling, and because to the scaling duration to level it dose not appear to be a proc They read to have no mana cost, and they just look like that is what they are there for. Hurray for wild speculation I suppose

+16 Internets | Stamina cost on the melee spells would be useless, since stamina usage in the game is borked as it is. It would be better to just add a mana bar to the pure melee and call it something else besides mana and base it off a certain stat. Like maybe a warrior's is based off of str, a rogue off dex, a monk off agi, etc...

Stances do make sense. I mean, I'm no swordsman, but I do know there are certain poses you take...like, holding the hilt close to your nuts makes it easier to parry or something, and crazyfuck conan overhead swings make for some nasty weight on the blade when it's coming down... plz to correct me if i'm wrong. I wouldn't expect them in EQ, but maybe EQ2 will have it so you don't necessarily have to be a cookie-cutter warrior =P and not that gay style shit you burn your endurance on after 4 swings that DA pulled.

You're Forgetting Give a paladin or SK defensive and since the Blade of War can be used by both classes..... warriors become Totally utterly obsolete in every form our disciplines are all that really hold us together now, hybrids will always outdamage us paladins and SK's will always out aggro if they want to, giving them defensive or evasive would be insanely unbalancing, how would you give warriors a role to play? you'd have to keep us as the superior raid tanks somehow or we'd be totally phased out of usefulness
