Anyone else have bad framerate lately?

I noticed after the LoY implementation patch that ToV gives me horrible video lag now. Up until today I thought it was only ToV, but I found out that Ssra and Plane of Fear are the same way. I'm not in an uberguild, so I don't go to many PoP zones deeper than HoH, so it may be even worse in newer zones.

I have a really high end computer. My video card is a Geforce 4 4600 (the 128 mb one). I've NEVER had bad framerate anywhere up until now, yet these empty zones are worse video lag when they're empty, than 2 EQWs on a full raid in a normal zone with spell effects on.

I can compare it to a mediocre computer with max clipping plane running around Bazaar with 400 traders.

However, looking at the ground doesn't help at all, and neither does setting clipping plane at 0%, therefore it's my guess that the entire zone is being rendered despite the walls and clipping.

Anyone else having similar troubles? I've never been to Plane of Water, but from what I've read this is what you guys seemed to be describing.

i'm getting that too, and it always takes me like 5 mins to zone in even tho my char will be *in* the zone for that time

Yeah, ever since LoY something's been up with my framerate as well, no idea what they screwed up.

i really don't see how they could fuckup anything dealing with old content or the way things work by adding new zones

they must have not gotten degrees, its the only fucking answer when they get this much wrong every damn time

I'm on a:
P4, 2.42gig
512 rdram
120gig HD
Geforce 4 Ti 4200
DSL

Since LoY my framrate has been trash. I was silky smooth with EVERYTHING turned on before LoY, now with a bunch of stuff turned off I still chop on raids pretty bad. I can't levi anywhere worth a crap either since bad framerate = drop like a rock. I also have random 5 - 20 second freezes that I think occur when people sometimes zone in...VERY annoying when you are in the heat of battle in elemental zone or something like that.

So what is causing it?

when this happens (i mostly notice it in elementals) reload your ui and it fixes it 90% of the time. /loadskin youruinamehere 1 i do it every tiem i zone into the elemental planes or die and get resed in

I agree.

Framerate has been shit ever since LOY.

Not to mention my ping as well. And YES it's EQ's problem, not mine.

I know that mip mapping is broken. If you play with mip mapping and see that its broken here is the temp fix. Go to eqclient file and change mipmapping=true to mip mapping=1 This is just a temp fix and everytime you change your graphic settings at startup you will have to keep changing mipmapping=true.

Also something wrong with custom UIs. With one of my custom UIs I get horrible framerate, and with default I have great framerate. Its a big difference.

Eqclient - add "UseUmbra=TRUE" it helps.

I've noticed that Mob AE's can lag my system out hardcore lately. We're doing a bit of final re-flagging and hit the Sol Tower mini's. Two of Riz's guards get pulled into camp and AE us. My frame rate dropped to about 2-3 frames. I have a 1700+, 1gb 2700, 4400 128mb ddr system that never had any problems running with spell effects on. On multi mob AE's it might drop my framerate down to 20ish, but that was about it.

On a weird side note, was bot'ing a friend. Had him on my 2nd machine sitting in the back of camp in a bot group. During a med/RR break he dies, no mobs in camp. Scroll back up and he died from pain and suffering. The person babysitting the bots at the time said they didn't see his HP drop at all. Just went from full to dead.

Happens to me only in the Elemental Planes, and it's only been happening recently.

When I zone in any of them I have to reload my UI or suffer from really bad framerates.

It's a big basket of suck, and I don't what the problem is..

Wife's computer lags insanly after LoY yes.
Its like a software is going nuts in the background but there isent.
Been thinking of installing EQ again since its a copy of my install.
Any know if EQ needs the info in regedit to work normal?

If I remember right the only information that is stored in the Registry is the "UnInstall Info"
