| Woo woo, Soon we can expect some delicious big V kissing the player base ass (although probably not specifically with shadowbane). As a couple more MMORPG's are set to launch the time is soon. Get your "This sucks and I am going to quit if they can't fix - insert stupid bug that big V has been putting off for years" messages ready to flood the message boards. and then .... Sit back and watch the devs scramble. |

| Personally, I can't wait for Shadowbane. It's pvp system is perfect, much better than the lame Daoc system. The castle and town system looks a lot like the good parts of Ultima Online. They've been testing for so long that the launch better be smooth ![]() Lets hope they actually launch on the 25th. Guy at my local Ebgames said that the game CDs are being printed as we speak.

Yes, great improvements have coincided with the release of other games. Great improvements have also coincided with times when there was no other release. Not every release had this great improvement thing with it either. Lastly, people attribute a great improvement that is many weeks off of some other release as being caused by it. The conclusion that a logical person draws? SoE/Verant makes improvements on their own schedule...if it occurs when another company makes a big release great, if it doesn't oh well.

Or actually .... Your right. They pay no attention at all to any game release and don't cater to the player base in order to secure their cash cow during a release. How could I have even been so stupid to have suggested that. It's not like they are in a competitive business or anything. Last edited by Symp : 02-16-2003 at 12:55 PM.

Since then, I couldn't tell you. But considering exactly how hard daoc flopped, I doubt they're extremely worried. You'll probably still managed to eek a little out of a competing mog's release, but not nearly what it's been in the past. I really don't think competition scares them anymore. Maybe WoW will but probably not even that considering Eq2 is scheduled for a 4th quarter release this year. You know it's wierd tho... after bashing on SB so hard and so long I think I might actually try it out for their free month. I mean, we've all seen what happens when a company rushes a product live... I wonder if the result is similar when a company takes their time in testing. They probably just ran out of money and realized that they had some critical errors imbedded deep within their gfx engine and all... but still I wonder if they put the extra time to good use or not. Go go SB Beta!!!
