| No instant recast spells anymore? Looks like on test they are removing all the 0.0 recast spells and making them all 2.2 minimum. This is the cleric undead dd which used to be 0.0 but now retuned to 2.2 http://lucy.fnord.net/spellhistory.h...28&source=Test 872 spells were changed on the 14/01/03 so it looks like every class affected. | No spells are "instant recast" anyways, spell gem refreshing takes like 2.5 (or maybe it's 2.2) seconds, so you're not really losing anything major. My guess is they're doing it to get rid of the "Spell recovery time not yet met." message. |

My guess is they're doing it to get rid of the "Spell recovery time not yet met." message. No, recast has nothing to do with spell recovery time. Spell recovery time comes about because you managed to finish casting a spell less than 3.5 seconds after you finished casting another spell. All a 2.2 recast means is that any spell with a 1.3 or less cast time can still give the spell recovery time message. This is a nerf on people that use instaclickes to chain spells, you know, things like Complete Heal, Nature's Infusion, Velium Strike, Draught of E'ci etc. Unless they back this SPDat change up with further coding it won't effect instaclickying different spells, like "Torrent of Poison, clicky, Tears of Saryn, clicky, Velium Strike, clicky, etc." but will mean your cleric won't be able to start a second CH 0.5 seconds after finishing the first..., for good clerics, druids etc. who (ab)used instaclickies they could cut 1.7 seconds off recasting things like CH or chaining bigger heals like Tnarg's or Nature's Infusion. Now if I have to memorize Nature's Touch because I can't instaclicky Nature's Infusion I think I'm gong to puke, that pile of shit spell should never have existed in such a gimp ass form and if I have to cast it at 65, someone at SOE is doing something spectacularly fucking wrong. |

| its to stop the instant click cheat. yes, its a cheat. its the spells they added a fizzle time to i havent figured out yet. I think their intent is that fizzle time be a delay after the bar resets, but in practice, thats not how it works. this is one of the reasons druid dps is so gross... their recast delay is absorbed by the reset delay. oh did anyone else notice the fuckup on bard mana cost? they were testing the bard charm with a mana cost of 160 (from 90), when they changed it back, its set at mana cost 9... wonder if it will be missed and go live? |

| I'm still trying to figure out why he would bother loading a 1k heal instead of a 2k heal cause he can't insta clicky NI anymore. That's like whining that because you can't speed in a school zone anymore your not going to drive your Vette, but a gimp ass Yugo instead. |

| I'm still trying to figure out why he would bother loading a 1k heal instead of a 2k heal cause he can't insta clicky NI anymore. You load BOTH. Instead of stareing at your greyed out gems like a drooling idiot while the tank gets assraped you instaclicky and cast Nature's Touch while Nature's Infusion is refreshing. However it sounds like ALL gems will be greyed out, not just the recently cast spell, so it's moot. this is one of the reasons druid dps is so gross... their recast delay is absorbed by the reset delay. Um... no, but thank you for playing. Druids had recast delays added to their nukes back when Moonfire got fixed and is very similar to the recast delay clerics have always had, only shorter. When a druid instaclicked they had to use 2 seperate nukes because of recast delay and so suffered a DPS penalty for using a second inferior nuke. Instaclicking increased ALL classes DPS significantly, including clerics and most importantly wizards who had their draught DPS increased by something like 50% with clickies and without the recast delay on their nukes they didn't need to use nuke pairs like druids and clerics but could chain 1 nuke if they wanted. With ALL gems being greyed out now the wizard elemental pants just went from being greatly useful to being must-have with this change as you have nothing else to do while your stupid gems refresh other than cyber with Absor or click something, and what a thing to click; pants. |
