Linking Loot

In two words: "it's fucked." I dunno how it came to be fucked, but you have to mess around with the links a lot sometimes before you can put a link in your chatbox. Sometimes it works how it did before /shrug.

Hope it gets fixed

Happened with the last patch, has something to do with the new windowed mode.

Playing around with the window (alt-tabing in and out a couple times) worked for me.

Not using the ummm, official windowed mode here, still getting the linking problems. Apparently linking a different item then going back to link the original works...

Looks like they fixed it. Anyone else notice that? What it came down to was that you could link stuff you actually had on you, but you couldn't link things from links 9 times outa 10. But now u can link everything again...I think? No problems here neways.

That problem comes from 2 things.

1) Just bugs with the UI.
2) Code to try to make it so people couldn't manipulate the links to link random items in the item database.

Jaryn I agree, I think they implimented code that doesn't allow you to link an item in your chat window unless you HAVE the item in your inventory or bank. For example when I first got the remove curse spell of the great shroom the other day, I linked it in /guild Woot I got the spells "Remove Curse" <--- linked. Then I scribed the scroll and ran into a friend of mine, scrolled up in my chat log, brought up the window for remove curse, and tried to re-link it in a /tell to my friend or /guild, but couldn't it wouldn't let me. I've also been able to replicate this on other things. I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, but might be part of the confusion.

They can't use the "3rd party software software" excuse anymore
becuase they themselves suggest XP users to use Compatibility
Toolkit, which is a MS 3rd party app.

So be proud, let your EQW-ness show.

And to be on topic, I've had zero probs with linking.

It was worse before last patch but it's still fucked up :/

I wish their Q&A team fucking atleast TRIED to do their job (if they even have one..)
