Yea, when the game was new even a non-level 50 character would net big bucks.

I remember a lvl 44 and 43 paladin getting like 1500 for their characters.

I think the record on CT server was a lvl 50 wiz. He had CT robe, vox eyepatch, all the leet stuff. He got around 5k I think.

If your killing for exp a good puller never lets the casters get full mana yet never lets them get low enough not to have a heal for them.

I can still here kartak now, after someone training spiders to the prep room. "Who brought this Sh*t!" then fly into some cursing rage for 5 min.

Oh man that use to own...

I remember my ultimate scam, it was the greatest idea in the entire world and I was the complete owner of it. I remember when Dwarven Work Boots from unrest were the complete shit, and the dorf ghost was the ultimate xp spot. I was the ML and this was lightyears before the loot code came out, I kept saying it was the ring and if any one wanted it I would give them the ring, no one ever to this day caught on to that move. I got like rich in boots in only a few camps. Since the rare was so good and the common was so common it was not a bad idea heh.

I remember when some dwarven cleric from foh, hooked up my lvl 30 paladin ass with A FULL SUIT OF BRONZE, I just about shit my shorts, I was the happiest guy in the entire world, this was before Fear was even in FOH's visions.

I remember when I was in Gfay and I was showing off the fact that I could simply levitate down the elevators instead of clicking the time wasting button and waiting. Back when that was one of the biggest spills a newbie could take.

I remember when Zamtil turned lvl 50 and I just asked him to cast something cool on me, I think he casted the REDUCULOUSLY uber Celerity spell on me, and I felt like I was a ninja right out of the movies. That guy EVEN FLOATED!

My favorite XP spot was definatly the assasin room, I camped that place for so long the DAY BEFORE they removed the drop. I even PASSED on a few so the rogues who could put it on could have it. (biggest regret ever)

You lied to your groups to keep loot? How original. *bows*.

My favorite zone was Unrest. The atmosphere, the ambience, it had a great way to it. Pulls were unpredictable, there were always trains going back and forth, and an endless spam of death messages, it was just a madhouse of a zone. Unrest rewarded vigilance and opportunism, unskilled or slow-reacting players often ended up with less xp than they came in with at the end of their camp. And pulling was one of the funnest activities, because you were wandering around this haunted house and trying to bring something back, and you never knew if something was going to spawn right next to you, or if a train would jump on your ass. It was truly frightening going up the stairs or turning a corner. Haha.

Here is my tactic for pulling in Unrest: First off the group make up

Shaman, Druid, Monk (me), 2 Beastlords and Warrior. O ya lvl 60 wizzie w/ an AOE nuke loaded standing 8 feet away

Go in the house pull the whole first floor and bring it to group
Fight until you get overwhelmed.
Have 60 Wizzie AOE nuke everything and then let you loot the corpse.
Go to second floor and pull all the second floor
repeat other steps and so on and so forth

I have a screenshot of one of my "Train Pulls" and there is seriously like 20 mobs on screen and my whole party going "OMFG you brought the whole damn house."

==============

Damn, the BB hammer on our server went to some newb that quit like a week later. I was this -> <- close to getting that other uber weapon, a skull fanged stilleto off the newb who won it. The days that GMs used to give out dragon loot or better than dragon loot to level 5s. You can't get service like that anymore. Good memories.

I remember when a new rumor would pop up every week on the rogue boards about the Fanged Skull Stilleto dropping somewhere. 12/22, it had every rogue salivating at the time.

You guys should start a petition or something for a pre-kunark server.

I'm sure tons of people would play there. After all, any time anyone talks about the old days it's always in fondness.

no matter what game, no matter what they do, no matter who plays on it, the old days can never be created. I was there, I remember most things people are talking about, but no matter what u cant go back. Yea guk was the complete shit back in the day, but new stuff comes and guk had its time heh. Sadly I think that the fun of MMORPGS was good during UO and EQ but then slowly slowly, no other game can recreate the fun. heh

Nostalgia is a very funny thing. Humans have it in their nature to remember the good, but not the bad, thus it was always better in the old days.

Nobody remembers waiting 6 hours in a line to join a single camp in pre-Kunark days because there were so few camps to begin with. People complain now when they have to wait a half hour, but waiting 4+ hours was common in the pre-Kunark days.

Nobody really cares anymore about all the KSing and training that went on in Cazicthule, Lower Guk, and Solusek B...levels of these that are unheard of today. All they remember is how "good" these zones were, how much fun.

I for one don't think things were better back then. They were just different. But because of the Nostalgia thing a lot of people don't remember the bad...thus they have this pedestal they stick the good old days on.

Most of the original people remember them being fun because they were the first and so few people were in those zones. I agree after everyone got lvl 50 they sucked pretty bad. But by that time we had moved on to bigger things..

oh dude, the old trains you could pull in CT were nuts. Once, just to be an asshole because my group were a bunch of irritating pricks, I sat there going "oh, nope, nothing respawned yet..."
and since I always timed spawns visually instead of using a clock, i knew once that ONE GUY spawned all I had to do was shoot an arrow and all hell would follow him out.

i ran like mad to the zone out. hEhE.

kobold trains were nasty in solb, yeah. Lguk trains were only bad if you weren't fighting your way out from bedroom or something and brought everything from the lord up to the zone. yar.

Feign death + karnors castle = the most ridiculous trains you ever done saw though.
