| wow, its been, what? About four years since EQ was released? Amazing. And yet after all this time, my highest character is only level 50. I remember when PGT's were uber and when the gnoll that dropped it spawned, like five groups would jump him. I remember when the orc trainer's SBS was uber. Now to think about it, why was it uber? It only had like +10SV Magic or something. I remember the first time I soloed the trainer, but I would always die when an orc centurion joined the trainer,. I would always get pissed whenever some "uber" 25th level or so wizard would pop out of invis and kill-steal the trainer. ![]() I remember when I had to group to kill gobins in Misty Thicket. I also remember when 500pp was a TON of money. When I was told I could do the gem inlaid gauntlets quest and get 500pp for it, I swore it was a lie. Well, I think I'm done reminiscin' for now...back to work ![]() |

| LGuk was, and still is, a brilliantly conceived dungeon. Back before it was camped, or before its insides were even well known, it was a blast to crawl through. Dungeon-crawling LGuk was perhaps the second-scariest EQ experience I've ever had (the first being the famous newbie trip from Qeynos to Freeport in early Beta). Back then, when you lost your corpse deep in a place like lower Guk, you nearly cried. Or shat a brick, depending upon your choice of actions.

). I also remember when Netted Boots were one of the only below level 20 magic boots. All the monks were jumpin' over each other to get 'em. Finally, they could kick those devilish wisps, ghouls, and I *think* zombies. ![]() | |

| Solusek b kobold king camp, puller pulled 30 mobs or more and i was an enchanter at level 40 or 41.Ihad a GSD as robe, dont remember the rest.AE mezz wasnt nerfed and i could mezz infinite targets with it.The mana would regenened up in the time it ´worn off easy.I even threw in tons of AE remezzes.Kobold king respawn in the duration of the fight like 2-3times. Every single time of course he harmtouched me, fu.Such a blast, such an overpowered class. It was fun owning back them, and soo uber.Fight took like 90minutes or more. Enchanter were so overpowered it was funny, some levels and months later in karnos castle a train was trained to right zone out and i was at left zone out. Some group was there and tried to finish of a mob, i just threw an ae mezz and got 15+ mezz messages.Toss an ae blur and AE mezz again. They started killing another mob of the train and i kept mezzeing, from one side of the zone out to the other(not saying i am super uber, it was so easy). Kept doing this until the whole train was dead, too bad i am a cleric now.I miss these old rocking times where enchanter ruled the world. Just sharing old memories, dont mind me |

that bit about leather reminded me: who else remembers when people marketed that 3rd level of netted(i can't remember the name right now. netted, woven, and..uhm..) as "the same damage absorbancy as chainmail omg every monk needs a full suit" line? And some might argue Lguk was the worst conceived zone...I used to know a few guys who bitched the loot out of that zone was so whacked. But that was in the days of this one guy with about 5 accounts perma-camping nameds down there and hocking the stuff off on ebay. now nobody would camp guk...but otherwise it's a really cool zone, I agree. +16 Internets | Monks never really needed magic boots because all our special atks hit for magic. I remember trying to kill a willowisp with just tiger claw ;( But yea, netted gloves were first because they dropped off of really low lvl stuff. Woven and mesh...man, that stuff was the uber though. I remember first discovering mesh (shortly after I discovered monks had a weight limit haha) and thinking it was the best armor ever ;p

| i seem to remember my kicks didn't hit for magic..but I never attacked wisps or ghouls until I got those magic gloves, and usually got the boots with it. Hehe, maybe the auctioneer just lied to me. Mesh! woot. |

| Mesh I remember I started a newbie monk once i got my necro to like 15, and I was poor on my necro so I had no money at all for my monk. I remember some ogre sold me meshed gloves and boots for 10pp (all my cash at level 8) and now I could hit magic things like willowisps and start collecting greater lightstones to sell for 1pp. OMFG 1pp per lightstone, it was amazing. Oh the memories. /tear |
