Skill mods for weapon skills should go in at the same time as skill mods allow skills to go above 252 and not before. If I as a paladin can get a +2hs or +2hb skill mod item, a warrior should be able to use that same item to get the same relative benefit. Anything else is unbalancing. I can see pure RNG and WAR only items with +piercing, but knights should not be able to use it until those classes capped at 252 can go above that with skill mod items.

How do you think most tanks would like it if there was a +25% defense ALL/ALL item? It would do nothing for the tanks, but would cap ranger defense skill and almost cap priest defense. That sound fair?

Skill mods dont matter much to monks in terms of weapons, so it would be useless by and large ;p

Block/riposte/dodge/FK/Feign Death modifiers thx!

Actually, if I remember correctly, Paladins cap out below 250 on 2hb and possibly 2hp, thus a % mod to 2hb/2hp would increase the DPS on those weapons.

It's really a pity they either can't or don't want to add +ethos/alignment damages. Nobody but nobody could touch the damage a crusader wielding a holy avenger dealt out(with the possible exception of a warrior with a vorpal weapon. FWAP your head goes off!)
...Drizzt Do'Urden was the only guy who could dual-wield and do decent damage...mostly because he had two moonblades or some shit...
*gets a blank look, and wanders off*

Yeah, the PoP 2-handers are pretty bad, But don't even get me started on just how retarded the effects on our Elemental armor is....

The other thing to take into consideration is that Punishing Blade and other 2h enhancing aa skills put quite a bit of extra power into the 2h line of weapons. The lack of 1h alternatives doesnt bother me as much since Id rather not take that many 1200 hit ripostes. The obcene damage/riposte and the added DPS of using a PB3 2hb makes ditching 1h a clear choice thusfar.

However, it seems that theres one or two decent 2h options for most classes so far, and theyre at best sideways alternatives for the Luclin versions. Now its not entirely bad that the gimp POP mobs arent dropping vastly superior weapons to Ssra, but it is clear that the difficulty of end 3rd tier and elemental planes is VASTLY harder than cursed/emp, yet the rewards are at best ~equal. Why is it also that trivial BOT minibosses drop something like the 41/31 2hb that is also on par with ssra drops?

I saw a 35/20 2hb with 185hp yesterday and after seeing the damage bonus, all that could be said was that it'd be nice extra HP's for pulling but who would want to swap it out for a decent DPS. I'd gladly drop the particle effects on these new toys if theyd make mods, procs, and bonuses that actually were worthwhile.

Goldenrod is better then that greatstaff of the four winds. Both are easy to get (from a mob difficulty standpoint) and drop pretty rarely in my experience.

Goldenrod hasn't been rare at all for us.

In 15 kills, we got:

7 goldenrods
2 ranger claws
2 bloodfrenzys
1 render
0 fangs
3 Khalshazars

So almost 50% drop on those damn rods.
