| Sean pretty much has the history down cold. Just left out that one of the mid nerfs (I think the MW was nerfed 4? maybe 5 seperate times (not just two)). The MW pet was made AGRO AS FUCKING HELL. To combat the fact he could hang around and do massive dmg even with 1 hp they made it so mobs would turn on the pet automatically to such an extreme that I remember the pet procing in places like Uguk and Lguk and mobs from miles away that came running to off it. This was the change that gave the possibilty for the Overseer of Air "idea." Idea is in quotes, cause it wasn't even a very good idea. A 1point DS or an AE would have ended that raid very fast. Then VI in the final nerf decided to make it so the pets only lasted a combat round, then I believe they changed it to a set time after that. Anyway at this point in time changing it was somewhat moot as they had stopped dropping altogether. P.S. There was also a nerf with it's proc rate somewhere in there which was later changed to the durational pet. P.P.S. For those of you that don't know ANY pet under 20 hps was made unbuffable because of the Mistwalker. It was a 10/25 (Yeah 10/25, a ratio that wasn't even uber for the time it was in hehe) scim that proc'd a 146? double hittin wolf pet that bashed for 73s? (I can't remember the exact #s, but they were mean) |

| Surprised nobody mentioned Dawnfire. The reason so many clerics had hopes of meleeing since back in the day. Cleric only 1h blunt mace, proc'd Banish Undead, 660 or so to undead proc. Was definitely one of those classic old world weapons that every cleric desired.

| Old bug A long time ago when you could click items in and out of trade windows one person could spam the item in and out and if the recipient clicked trade at the exact right time you'd get a dupe of any item BUT it would poof when you zoned. A dangerous theory I had when I saw this was if someone did this with Steel armor and re-sold to vendor for about 10 hours, woulda been some nice cash back then. Early Fear pulling a boogeyman or a nightmare would pretty much be a gauranteed zone crash, nice for farming if you did it with people in a semi safe spot. Did it many many times heh. Other early fear bug I remember was if you camped out right as Cazic DTd you it was almost always a corpse dupe. Happened a lot since mobs would constantly path near Cazic and set him off DTing everyone... CAMP NOW#@$$#$@# Fear kiting Cazic Thule was cool too.. Oh and don't forget manastoning yourself to death for no xp loss =p There's plenty of stuff like this. It's fun to hear new ones, keep em comin. Last edited by ZamEq : 12-26-2002 at 09:52 AM. |

| What surprises me about the Moss Covered Twig, is that they had a precedent for crap like it. Does anyone remember the bixie stingers that dropped off of bixies? If I recall they were 1/3 or something along those lines, and were nerfed before final if my memory serves me correctly. Shrug. Plat |

and the monk epic quest didnt work out of the chute, so even more discrepency. i think the monk soloing a jug was not twig aided, but pre-MoK nerf. perhaps all of our Kunark urban legends are starting to bleed together. we sound like a bunch of old farts at the retirement home, just shooting off stories, not even remembering what is real and what is imagined ![]() Zam: hehe yes we tried fear kiting Cazic once. we only had 18 people in the zone, and it was too late to reinforce. I think we got him to like 50%, pulled with turgors, but somehow i managed to get the first DT anyways, wtf? :P

| ... There is so much mis-information here Dual wielding mosscovered twigs- they were lore, so .. nope Inte's sword of death was 150/15 Treant fists, not Whitened treant fists, WTF are from PoS. The standard treant fists quest is still in the game, they just changed the item which had right click CH instant cast. There was that recent bug which made bane modifier, increase by 1, every time you killed a mob untill you hit 255. (I think thats it). There was at least 1 rogue who soloed stanos with it, People were also backstabbing for 5000+ One of the other interesting ones was the original staff of discord which dropped from the priest of discord. Its stats were ~ 40/10 I dont remember exactly. A monk figured out that you could use the disarm skill while FD and not get agro. This is why you can't disarm magic weapons. They also changed the staff just in case somebody did kill him. A gm stumbled upon this monk soloing in the maze in CT, he had gained several levels in a day or two. You used to be able to hand an overthere hammer to an npc, and if they procced the zone would crash. There was also that time the loot tables got screwed up and npc's all over the place were dropping crazy shit - bark leggings from dervs - and naggy off dogs in sol b. You used to be able to make an eye of zomm and kill it in sol B and it would randomly drop medium bronze armor ( it was VERY valuable at the time)

+1 Internets | Bixie stinger was a rare, rare drop off Bzzazzt in POS I believe, it was nerfed some time later. The stinger would be wielded, so imagine how fucking mean Bzzazzt was originally... least that's how i remember it... I believe it was one of the missing quest pieces originally, and added later. my guild did POS after other guilds went in and declared it worthless, so actually fought bzazzt wielding it.
