I miss the old world uber weapons too. Brokenly powerful super rare weapons like the Mistwalker, Bladestorm, that blood boil sword, and the Soul Leech - Didn't the original Soul Leech proc a 300 pt lifetap or something? God damn, that's sickening. Stuff like that made the game exciting.

Just nitpickin' here a little bit..proc on Bladestorm was called Rain of Swords...and was like 900+ damage.

Lonzo quit pre-kunark, and Barbacon moved to Aro I think when the server split (although he may have quit anyways).

Bgup's got the last one. It's always funny showing the link for the Bladestorm in guildchat. You can always spot the "newbs" to the game by all the "where does that drop?" questions.

Procs Ice Comet. Drops in the RoF event. I remember someone posting on graffe's about this item, pissed a lot of wizzies off.

Bloodfire and Spined Dragon Claws were also up there. Kunark really threw the whole old-world mentality away and never looked back. Before it, you could count the stand-out godly items on one hand, you could tell who was uber just by one or two unmistakable items they wore. It seems like, and in many ways is, a whole different game.

THogg (spelling intentional) had Bladestorm on Tunare.... was unfortunate enough to have that bitch proc on me pre-Kunark as a mid-30's wizard, that thing hurt.... a lot...

What are some of the most over powered items to ever exist in EQ? I know a few like the first incarnation of the Donal's BP, Whitened Treant Fists, but beyond that I only have heard vague references towards items that where before my time.

And to extend it a bit further, what are some of the best exploits ever that are no more? Not talking fearing things into walls, but real exploits.

Love to hear some of this older shit.

6 man Yeli kills, due to the always forgotten(at least when programming) mob assist when hit by AE's or some other situation.

There was the Conquest Exploit with Ventani (that didn't even work) for a bigtime exploit. Broken weapons were things like Intei's(sp?) Sword of Death, a onetime drop that lasted 5min in the game that was like 350/15 with the FA stats. People killed Intei thinking the sword he had was the FA. 5min after it dropped, VI dropped the servers and removed it.

2 ice giant wizzy's, 2 monks, and 2 in permafrost, i forget how it went....but monks wielding a certain weapon fighting a certain mob in permafrost would crash the zone, meaning instant zone repop and farming vox...cant remember for the life of me how it went though...

actually, the sword was no rent, thats why it doesnt exist anymore.

i also remember seeing a couple screenshots of kreugen using it in PoA too (yes, he was the one who got it).
