| The price of SC2 collectors edition has been dropping dramatically on eBay, from $199-249 a month ago to $130-149 or so now, which is barely a $10-30 profit after ebay/paypal fees. A lot of new listings show up at $130 as well. Kind of strange for a CE which is sold out to be dropping in price closer to release... It'll be interesting to see if Amazon relists it as available from them later this week.

+187 Internets | I haven't had time to read anything about this, but to me it stinks like RealID devoted a large portion of their capital budget or shares to treating Blizzard games like a big advertising campaign. Why else would Blizzard shoehorn this awkward/problematic system in and expose their users(and by extension themselves) to it's potential privacy issues right on the tail of finally making their own federated login system the standard for all of their online services? Anybody that knows anything have any input on that take? Is RealID even a product/platform being supplied/supported by another vendor(and shopped around to other games/online services) or is this really just a terrible idea that Blizzard came up with and developed all by themselves?

+25 Internets | What makes you say this? Blizzard's reasoning for it was rather weak, and if they continue forth with it in spite of the terrible press and reaction its received, then their stubborn position makes financial and business decisions more plausible. |

| The worst part is when you have a 'sort of unique name'. The first thing you see when you type my name into google is a facebook, cover picture of a guy with his face painted with a beer can and being wild. I'd wager 50% of employers google you and just assume from there, just because they can. My name lies in that boundaryof gaydom. Really hope this thing goes away, i'm betting mr.facepaint loves his WoW and forum talk. |

| I just saw my first piece on this on CBC news (yeah, Canadian news...) and apparently the Privacy Minister (think polite Czar) is collecting complaints already. It was the usual fluff but I thought it was telling that they framed it in terms of the Facebook issues of late, which in Canada at least resulted in some rule changes and censure for that company. Hell, maybe Blizzard will just drop Canada.
