It works pretty effortlessly. I visited Salty's Funhouse and spoke with the proprietor.

Just from the video, the client looks excessively bulky.

You mean not everyone's viewing on a 46" OLED 4k rez screen? Point noted Those responsible for the bulkyness will be flogged, and then if that doesn't fix it, those who did the flogging will be flogged.

I'm sorry, those responsible for the floggings have been flogged.

Trying this right now and its no where near the quality of the TS server we use. Is there some why to adjust the codex at all or is it a one size fits all sorta thing.

Pricing is nice, but if this is the best quality its a pass. Please let me know, certianly don't mind playing around with it a bit.

What Codec are you using on TS? Its using the GIPS codec, which is the same that Google uses for Google Chat. There aren't currently accessible client settings, but we can look into it for sure. I might have to set up a TS server to do some shoot-out testing and will investigate this for sure.

New Features!

We've pushed out build 1100.18 and have some new features to highlight
  • Per Channel Passwords- Set by those with Admin rights of course.
  • Assignable Admin rights/privs on a per channel basis.
  • Always on Top- In the General pref menu
  • Mute Users
  • Kick (off channel or off server)
  • Voice Fonts - Under the Text Chat. Send to a channel instead of a server and then there's a dropdown of voices
  • Disable Voice joining announcements - Under general options
  • Move user to Channel - In right click menu, but you can also drag/drop.
  • Per Channel PTT assignments

Remember, you always will have a 'free' level account available. The end of the 14-day trial only means that you can't create your own servers after that time and there are plenty of free servers out there. Any guilds really interested in having their own private server should PM me, as I have a few codes I can give away in the next week or so.

Can you guys work on playing audio for the mac? I'm not so worried about being able to contribute to dialogues, but if I can't hear what others are saying the solution is a no go for a few of my work-guildmates.

Hmm, thats a possibility but its probably just the same amount of work to get the full client ported. We're getting REALLY close to having feature stability and getting the mac developers onboard to start the process for that. I've got a few front-end Mac guys that are queued up for when we pull the trigger.

I am definitely in need of the Mac client as well personally. I hate using VMWare nonstop (too much memory usage for my poor little Macbook Pro) and rebooting into Windows 7 is just annoying. That being said, VMWare Fusion 3 is pretty smooth and Windows 7 is definitely the best since Windows 2000 Workstation.

Massive and Crushing Price Drop

imVOX Price Drop! « imVOX Blog

We're dropping prices. Up to 30 users on a server is now free. No trial, no credit card, etc. Just free. Typefrag charges up to $12/month for this. We're free.

Need more people?

For $24.99/year you get up to 250 people in across up to 10 servers. (you can make 10 servers, or one, but only 250 people across all of them total).

Yes, Typefrag does charge $1080 for that if you pre-purchase every 3 months. But they also might swim in tubs of gold like Ducktails.

The main page doesn't even reflect this full change yet- but give it a day and it will. You're getting this news hot off the press.

Merry Holiday or some other politically correct statement

Y'all are being totally awesome with the attempt at innovation and the such, but the client behaves a little wonky for me. It doesn't take very long for it to start acting up and absorb 100k+ memory. I'll keep trying out new iterations of the client, but it's too unstable for me and my friends to switch services. On the other hand most of my friends seem to be able to connect and talk with ease until the problems occur.

It's nice just needing the name and password of a server.

Any chance you could fill me in a bit more on the memory consumption and other misbehaving? I'd definitely like to have your issued fixed.

I'm not a programmer so my perspective isn't very informed. Some things that happened to me in a server I made right after your little announcement:

I invited a friend on to check it out. We both sound "more distant" from our microphone as compared to the vent server we just left. This was a cosmetic issue I was fine with. My friend was able to join multiple channels, and I couldn't manage to do that. When he did I could no longer hear him even though he was still in my channel as well as two others. He could hear me. I tried changing channels to see if I could hear him in another, but after shifting to one of the other two I could no longer change channels at all. I was able to remove him from all channels except the one I began in, and when I managed to kick him from the server he could not reconnect. He waited for me in vent till I gave up.

Yea...it was weird. That jumbled mess is the series of events as I remember it. I've also had the client stop responding to channel moves in previous versions (when this thread was originally made), which is why I stopped trying it before. I run on a very recent install of win7 64. I don't usually have software problems. We just wrote it off as beta issues.
