| Hopefully this hasn't been posted already but..... Anyone that plays LoN and has a lot of Oathbound cards... You notice you can't actually play other people anymore, or even the local campaigns? Yeah. Sony decided to "stop supporting" Oathbound. You heard that right. Friend of mine dropped about $3,000 on LoN throughout its lifetime, a lot of it on Oathbound cards. Every deck he has is built around those cards. He went to play a match just yesterday and got a message that he was unable to play others with his deck. He then tried to play locally, and could but was warned he was playing with a "non-standard deck" and would not save his victories. He was confused about wtf was going on so he called Sony only to be told "We discontinued Oathbound and those cards can not be used in any deck". He argued this point (naturally) only to be told "Tough shit, its in the EULA that you agree with that we can discontinue any cards at any time we feel like it". Then, to make matters worse, he was told that "If you buy some cards from the most current expansion, they include some of the exact same cards from the Oathbound expansion". Wat? I could understand if they had special tournaments and excluded certain cards or what not but just casual play online completely not allowed? So yeah, lawsuits incoming, and SoE is inept at running anything, apparently. Last edited by AladainAF; 10-22-2009 at 07:43 AM.. |

+14 Internets | That's pretty standard rotation type stuff, Magic does it too, but you're right it should be for tournaments, not just random play. And there can easily be 'type 1' tourneys that just allow everything...no? |

| Plus, if the cards are currently available from "legal sets" then, if they follow the MTG model (which really is the *only* model to follow here), those specific older cards should still be playable (fireball is fireball is fireball, be it Alpha, Beta, or 10th edition). But it sounds like they may not be doing that, which is indeed a clusterfuck.
