To me that platform seems like it will start out at that size and pieces will start falling off as the fight progresses, maybe have a high-dmg close AE he does that only a tank can realistically mitigate and basically it's a dps race to drop him before you're out of room and the raid is taking way too much damage to be healed through. Just what I came up with after a night of drunk raiding.

Maybe we'll have to drive vehicles around shooting rockets as parts of the platform fall away until theres only one chunk left.

Yes, this was mentioned at BlizzCon. The platform will begin to collapse while fighting Arthas.

So perhaps during the fight, instead of a solid enrage/berserk timer where he one shots everyone directly, he just pulses an occasional ability that pushes everyone back 10 yards(and the retards off the edge early) Leading to the inevitable wipe if you take too long to kill him and get thrown off the edge.

This of course leads to hunters being the first to die as they're forced to be further out thanks to the dead zone.

Or when you kill him the entire spire collapses, burying you underneath and deleting your character so instead of loot you will receive a screen that tells you to reroll goblin/worgen when cataclysm comes out...

You'll beat him, he'll scream NOOOOO and trigger the cataclysm himself to try and kill you, your whole raid will be snatched out of the way by a flight of dragons. this leaves him convienantly still around, ties in with the next expansion.

icecrown will only unlock one boss a month anyways so you won't get to illidan until month 6, by which time he has grown fat from eating too many doritos and looks like Jabba the Hutt. Jaina will be in a gold bikini and will be the one that kills him by choking him with her iron chains.

Then sylvanas rushes in and starts making out with Jaina while 25 raiders watch.

BECAUSE DKS ARE SO FUCKING OVERPOWERED IN ARENA RIGHT?!

Thankfully I enjoy the class mechanics and still have (probably naive) hope Blizzard cannot be so stupid as to give a SNARE a DR yet continue to let mage and hunter ROOTS have none without any sort of buffs to account for it. If I was not before I am now wholly convinced they are actually trying to balance pvp around what the deadly wearing BG scrubs bitch and whine about on their forums instead of actually making any effort to pay attention to arena statistics. We managed to creep up to TWO percent representation recently, just ahead of druids with, respectively, 10th, 10th, and 9th highest representation in 2s, 3s, and 5s. /boggle

This isn't fucking 3.0 anymore. We don't scourge strike for 7k. Warlocks on the other hand CB for 9k. That's cool though. Anyone remember the last time they actually fought a DK in arena? I don't. Honestly, past 3 weeks we have fought 0 DKs. Clearly an overpowered class.
