Jewelcrafting gets its own daily, enchanting gets no such thing. Now items can be traded in 5mans meaning enchanters are under a moral obligation to disenchant items other people won, and in the 3.3 cross-realm LFG system there's a new rolling system for enchanters to disenchant items for other people. Is there a point for this profession other than a source of abyss crystals each gear reset (2.4, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3) ?

[edit] So all of that was a bit out of the blue. Erm, I was initially writing a post wondering why Warrior Critical Block and what implications that has with Icecrown Radiance enacted, at the same time musing the sparsity of block-heavy gear. No CC gear has block rating on it. I still expect hard-hitting bosses in Icecrown to hit for NRB-enraged levels, boss hitting for 35k then no worries put a paladin or druid in front of it, hope the healers don't go OOM.
I am strongly considering dropping enchanting. The only reason I had it was to DE and, well, thats pretty much gone now

New PTR build today. Patch notes were updated, including the Sacred Shield change being reverted:

Quote:
General

* Meeting Stones: To use any Meeting Stone, it is only required that the character’s minimum level be 15. There is no maximum character level requirement for any Meeting Stone.

PvP

* Battlegrounds
o All level 71-80 Battlegrounds will now award victors 25 Arena points in addition to Honor.
* Wintergrasp
o You must now have the following ranks to build or pilot siege vehicles:
+ Rank 2: Build/pilot Catapults.
+ Rank 3: Build/pilot Demolishers.
+ Rank 3: Build/pilot Siege Engines.

Death Knight

* Army of the Dead: The cooldown on this ability has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Army Ghoul damage dropped by 50%. Cannot be used in Arenas.
* Raise Ally: The cooldown on this ability has been reduced from 15 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.
* Rune Strike: Threat generated by this ability increased by approximately 17%.

Mage

* Talents
o Frost
+ Fingers of Frost: This talent now triggers immediately on casting a spell rather than being delayed until the spell strikes the target.

Paladin

* Divine Intervention: Cooldown on this ability has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.
* Flash of Light: This spell no longer causes a heal-over-time effect unless the player has the Infusion of Light talent.
* Lay on Hands: This ability now places Forbearance on the target and cannot be used on a target with Forbearance.
* Talents
o Holy
+ Infusion of Light: This talent now causes the paladin’s Flash of Light spells to heal the target for 50/100% of the Flash of Light healing amount over 12 seconds.
o Protection
+ Aura Mastery: This effect of this talent has been reduced in duration to 6 seconds.

Shaman

* Earth Elemental Totem: The cooldown for this totem has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.
* Fire Elemental Totem: The cooldown for this totem has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.

Warlock

* Pets
o Inferno: The cooldown on this summoning spell has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.

User Interface

* Group Disenchanting Option: In addition to rolling Need or Greed on items, players now have the option to elect for an item to be disenchanted if an enchanter of the appropriate skill level is in the group. Disenchant works exactly like Greed except if a player wins the Greed roll, they will receive the disenchanted materials instead. Players who choose Need will always win the item and will always beat those that choose Greed or Disenchant.

I seriously don't get what they are doing with paladins...ever...

okay, pulling off the HoT component from FoL and adding it to a generic talent...yay?

AM is now in prot? great?

Meh, whatever. I'm just waiting for the "stat" stat so we can all compare our stat stats together and basicly forget everything about WoW and drool on our stat stats for loot.

Thank god they finally added an arena restriction instead of making every ability that could adversely affect arenas a 20 minute cooldown so itls useless everywhere else as well.

Too bad they didn't have this for the Halloween event so we could use the SM stone.

Prot-spec healers are absurdly overpowered in PvP in general. Infinite mana, pretty large burst damage, two seperate stuns, silence, and almost impossible to kill. Melee DPS can't even touch them, you'll kill yourself before you beat through Holy Shield + SS + FoL and the heal over time.

Sorry to bring this up again, but Blizzard finally responded to my email (2 days after the 3-day ban expired) about using real-world money for in-game items. Their response? Disabling my account because the contact info appears to be incomplete. Now I have to email a copy of my damn driver's license or passport? What the fuck is this shit, I've had the account for 4 fucking years and now they want my driver's license. Can someone explain to me why this is necessary? And how banning me AGAIN after my 3 day ban is in any way a solution?

Sounds like, your account was compromised, before you can get it back you've got to prove proper identification.

Here's the hook, their healing is pathetically awful. Bring the same said paladin on to a 3v3 team, they're fucking worthless, so grats on being OP in 1v1 and 2v2. two worthless instances. Not like I'm upset in the least however, I've played holy the entirety of my healing career except for playing prot maybe once just to see how it is.

Stats are confusing to the average player. It may not be to you, but it is to a lot of people. Even I have to use the RatingBuster to figure out what on earth I'm actually getting from "critial strike rating". I mean, really, it was a nice bandaid fix on the scaling problem, but its out of control now and most players are just confused on what gear is even good for them. Not all of them read EJ or have spreadsheets. So yeah, removing all those extra stats could be considered dumbing it down if you are into that kind of thing, but if you ask me they are just doing something that makes more sense. You'll still be able to pick and choose types of gear, it'll just be easier to figure out what you want to do.

Talent trees are bloated. All they are going to do is trim them a little bit so we don't have one talent affecting 8 different abilities or talents that feel absolutely required by anyone even dabbling in that tree. The "mastery" will be a way for them to add an enormous benefit for being in a specific tree that also makes you want better gear and rewards you for getting it. This is not dumbing the game down in any way.

The LFG/Raid system is simply accepting what the game is like currently, and designing a new system that embraces that. Thousands of players play in PUGs only, every single day, and it's currently somewhat of a hassle to participate in them, not to mention organize them if you are leading. There are also no incentives to stick around if you don't want to. This system changes that. It rewards friends or strangers alike for doing random dungeons with random people. Nothing says you have to do it though, so there's no reason to cry about it. The only other complaint I've seen is the teleporting to dungeons, but honestly, what does travel mean at this point anyway? Most people are summoned to the stone as is, and even if you are one of the guys willing to run out to summon everyone, is your game experience enhanced in any way by that 1-5 minute flight? Probably not. It just doesn't matter at all.
Ok, that makes a lot more sense to me and sounds like something that I do like and think will be great for the game. Thanks everyone for your answers.
