| Blizzard has always maintained that they won't do this because opponents are supposed to be able to see what you're wearing and to immediately gauge how good your gear is. However, this has gone out the window for PvP sets as they all look very similar now except the hats and sometimes shoulders. Then they made 232, 245 and 258 T9 sets identical. So I'd say that reasoning is no longer relevant to them, I wonder if they'll revisit that idea. Last edited by Palum; 10-23-2009 at 03:48 PM.. |

+166 Internets | Blizzard stick to a game mechanic that is no longer relevant? Say it ain't so! Besides, they could always just shut it off in arena/bg's. Not that it matters much since most of the time you or they are dead before you even see their armor. Hitpoints is almost a better indicator then actually seeing the gear. |

+5 Internets | Blizzard could easily get around the "knowing what youre wearing" problem by adding a PVP con that displays average iLevel instead of player level in BGs or Arenas and allow you to toggle it in the open world. They put a lot of work into art assets only to have them become irrelevant every 6 months or so. Plus who wouldnt want to make a unique look for their character (or at least not in the same gear as EVERY other player of your class) |

| Curiously I'd love to see what the general population would chose as their appearance if dye-able armor came into play like EQ did. If they all chose the "I'm a troll, so I need to wear rainbow plate" it'd be kind of amusing |

| Appearance slots would be awesome. I used to tank farm runs in this back in vanilla for fun. Looked great on my gnome ![]() Russet Hat - Item - World of Warcraft |
