AION pvpness declarations

Darkane PM'd me today about his post over on Unmoderated.info declaring Nezekan as "the pvp server" for Aion.

It's been a long standing tradition that I make server/side lists for PVP games, so, honoring the memory of bringing Archimonde offline for three days, here we go for AION.

If you want your guild listed, just post it here.

Nezekan.

Some friends of mine are playing with Ret, I assume there. I tried to convince them that Ret gives up on games 6 weeks in, but they won't listen.

Germany community also started planning. Sadly many involved guilds seem to be raidguilds. But at least their zergs will have some coordination.

Nice, will probably roll there with a couple people, undecided guild name. We'll most likely run a small group and try to pick up some on the way during the levelling process (if we find anyone good). If anyone is interested in a hardcore PvP small group and is actually good, we'd give you a shot. Currently our two guaranteed classes are Cleric/Gladiator (the other players we're uncertain), looking for second cleric, sm/sorc and probably ranger.

Send me a pm if you're actually good and don't like zerging.

I thought the entire endgame of Aion was going to be PvP centric anyway?

Pretty much, but at least if folks do congregate on one server, they won't have to sweat mergers or the like as the others are shut down as initial interest in the game dwindles and fades.

It can and has worked the other way too. All of these big pvp guilds have been game hopping for years. They all went Skull Throne I believe in Warhammer and that server was a ghost town a few months after release when some of the other servers were sitting at high populations. It was shut down when servers that were not "THE" pvp server to be on were still going strong.

The pvp will no doubt start out heavy but it can also dry up the fastest as well. I hung out with some folks from PfB in Warhammer and they are all so restless. I can't see them sticking with anything for longer then a couple months. Follow the crowd at your own risk I guess.

We aren't trying to claim Nezekan as "the pvp" server...we are just trying to focus attention into a single server with like minded guilds. People who miss the roaming pvp days of competitive pvp from games such as DAoC.

We want people who want to fight at endgame, not people who want to bounce from keep to keep. Sure sieging will have it's place in Aion and we aren't discouraging that aspect of the game at all...we just want to know that where ever we decide to play, there is a competitive atmosphere for pvp that will really instill the feeling of community that's been lacking in past games.

Hi darph...and thanks for the post!

Getting as many of the rabid pvpers on one server is win/win/win all around.

The pvpers are surrounded by like minded players, the primarily pve'ers are warned off the server and thus limits the QQ from both sides.

If the game's "too pvp" and hemorrhages most of its pve player base, the pvpers will already have a solid home and won't have to deal with either ghost towns or rerolling/transferring.

The chances of that server's pvp getting neutered through carebear peer pressure is lessened.

Win's all around be you pvp or pve.

This post is cross posted at the following locations, if yo uwant to see all the attention it's drawing:
(and these are just the ones I know of)

I'm not sure how active dark is at updating the official rosters, but it's more about people knowing what we plan, then having a fully comprehensive list of guilds.

Keep them bumped!

Most of the PVP guilds do, including the one I play with (PRX).

But those 6 weeks are really fun to be honest.

What usually happens is when we get to the 'end-game' of PVP we either find it's really broken/not implemented (Like AoC was, when we burned down Sinister's battlekeep the siege just ended and we lost haha), or it gets repetitious and people stop logging.

I'm skipping this game, but make no mistake, even if you only play for the first two months, those two months are worth it if you like world PVP.

Has PRX decided on a server yet? I know some of you planned on playing. Hoping to see you out there again.
