But many exploits and tactics were pioneered in EQ, so it may have a lot to do with why it seems you were able to push the boundaries. Now, shit like kiting is standard (and abilities are designed to do it), but in EverQuest it was invented by the players with the abilities that were given.

| Indeed Believe, there was a lot more ingenuity back in the original EQ days because many of the mechanics that most assume come standard with MMO's nowadays were just being pioneered at the time. P.S. Every single MMO needs a plane of mischief; don't even change the name. |

Reality bites, but you'll get through it. They have support groups for you guys still playing EQ. There's still time to save the bit of your brain that it hasn't rotted out yet. | |

| lulz...I think people not on veeshan had more issues with FoH than people ON veeshan/same server as FoH- there was only one time that I ran into FoH in terms of stepping on each others raid mobs and that was during Ssra they where equiping a new round of alts/recruits- they let us have key parts if we needed and rotting equip, and they where legit in their spawn claim- not like they showed up mid our raid and rolled us, they where there first we just didnt expect them as they where well in VT farm while we where breaking into ssra- anywho we just moved our camp to some of the other named mobs in luclin to equip our lower geared players. all that to say, they where all usually civil and no more aggressive than any other guild v guild fighting for the same raid areas would be at any teir. Usually if you talk to someone of the same class as you they would help you out alot. When the SK BOTB happend I was 1 level away from the level to enter, they called me to the arena for their practice- Scrips (CoE?CD? forget) I think Dregor...or was this before erudite sk--anywho but Farien(sp) and others- well I did a spar and got my ass kicked (duh) but staying and talking I learned alot. That I think is the kind of thing many of us want in the next EQ or next MMO...

| another eq? sigh, abandon hope all ye who enter. here's the bottom line, and you can sugar-coat, euphemize, ignore or blindly disagree all you want. this industry, post wow and onward, has made further and further use of nothing but single and limited multiplayer-minded design as a ginormous bandaid for an ineptitude to properly evolve the massive social and interactive dynamic that potentially these games all share. compound this with people's general laziness, refuse-to-lose mentality, and knuckle-dragging along on the path of least resistance (click4purples), and you have mmo gameplay design that is the same as multiplayer design; and it's influenced by the same as mentioned above: laziness, stupidity, and path2purple. if the engineering team has the expertise to make it feel great to click a button, then your design will achieve not just success, but wow-level success. and this is wow today, euphemisms and blinders aside. multiplayer design as an mmo for an excuse to garner subs. that's it. mmo design should be about dynamically interacting with people, mobs, events, et al as you experience the world, both expectantly and unexpectedly. this has been missing for over a decade, and for this piece of trash industry to evolve, we need to get on this path again, this design scope, not the purples r' us handout line. eqN has a chance. maybe, just maybe, they have the ingenuity necessary to evolve the social dynamic they made so many years ago (whether it came about accidentally or was emergent, doesn't matter; it was there). i don't have hope. i'll never have hope again. but i wish them well should they pursue that evolution instead of just being another copy of a big mac. |

I'll take going back to EQ every few years to play casually than to still be playing WoW. I quit WoW like 9 months ago or longer and you've done a whole 15 more bosses than I did when I quit LOL. Jesus H, people who go back to EQ at least do different things or explore the new content, but you're redoing the same thing over and over and over and over. But, nm, you're FoH, so you're right, I'm wrong, and you're cool, I'm not. Please do something with your life man. How cute that you deleted my visitor comment, since I had the balls to leave it publically instead of with rep. How cute that you couldn't take the heat so you deleted it, don't like truth, brah? I thought truth was whatchu was about brah? <----- P.S. This is what you type like when you post nothing constructive, full of insult, adhom and random bullshit.

+1 Internets | I don't think he can do anything with his life really. From what I gather over the years he's a leiukemia or some fucked up disease guy that sits around smoking perscription pot and playing video games all day. So he's a gamer/forum hero by necessity, and not really choice =/ |
