| While we're actually having a DAoC discussion, does anybody know where I could obtain a copy of the soundtrack? There was some really good, moody atmospheric type stuff in the game and I'd love to give it a listen for nostalgic purposes, but I never did manage to find a copy of it. There were a few sound files in the game directory, but mostly just minor stuff. |

Not too expensive. You may be able to dowload the tracks somewhere though.

Anyway, I love fiddling with in-game scores, I'll dig up my old DAoC disc and see what's on there. EDIT: FOund my old CD and there is like 50 mp3 files on there, want me to zip em up and post them? Here's an example of what I found on the cd: http://www.xs4all.nl/~treesong/midgardtown1.mp3 Last edited by Treesong; 07-27-2009 at 10:24 PM..

I actually just dug out my old CD (nostalgiagasm!) and found the tracks you're talking about. Sadly the SI CD doesn't have an equivelant. Any idea how I could extract or locate them from the SI CD? There was one track in particular that I remember vividly (and can still hum to this day) that played in certain towns in the SI expansion. Last edited by Azrayne; 07-27-2009 at 11:48 PM..

| So do I actually. Oblivion seemed very bland and lifeless, Morrowind had a lot more character and variety to it. The whole issue with the world scaling as you levelled sucked to, basically robbed the game of any sense of progression. |

| The music you guys are looking for is likely the music that was produced by the game's random ambient music system: "New Ambient Music Soundtrack Shrouded Isles has much more that just graphical changes - there's also an entirely new ambient music system featured in Shrouded Isles that may turn out to be revolutionary in its implementation - we've taken our random ambient sound generation system and applied it to music, resulting in almost totally random music playing in the background. The music is written in a multi-track format so that different bits and pieces of it can be applied randomly together in a way that is not intrusive, but adds life and atmosphere to the game. Our sound engineer implemented this music it so that the game plays different pieces of ambient music depending on what zone you are in, the time of day, and other factors as well. So, as you travel across the world of Shrouded Isles, you'll hear different random tracks playing all the time, depending on your location and time. It's a really neat system that provides a real sense of atmosphere as you are playing - almost like a movie soundtrack. http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/expansions/si/engineupgrade.php" |
