| The current state of Healers Healing in WOW... So, in reading through all the WoW threads that get updated with each patch, and reading how people talk about the healing classes in general, it seems most people have a fairly low opinion of healing and healers and the skill involved. I'm not advocating that the majority of the paladins out there are scholars and skilled winners, but from my experience, especially when you're understaffed on heals, you're able to have a lot of fun healing. I know whackamole isn't the world's most exciting thing, but I've played all 3(4) (heal/tank/melee/range) in all of naxx, and most of uld, and i really don't feel more intellectually stimulated playing a lock or a druidtank than I do healing. I feel like ever since the advent of the healbot cleric in CH chains in EQ, healing has been considered the bastard role. What do ya'll think? whats fun as a healer? What things do you do as a grid-healer that makes it more than whackamole? What viability do you see in a vanguard-esque melee healer? |

| Killing things is always sexier than healing the people killing things to the majority of players. It doesn't matter the game. Yes, healing can be made more interesting, but it won't change this fact. |

+65 Internets | People don't get raging hardons from green pewpew as much as from yellow and white pewpew. "I BEAT THAT MOTHERFUCKER INTO THE GROUND" will always get more "BOO-YAHS" than "I SUPPORTED EVERYONE AROUND ME WHILE THEY BEAT THAT MOTHERFUCKER INTO THE GROUND" Everyone wants to be a rock star, and BOOM, HEADSHOT is the most flashy rockstar move. Thus why you have piles of people who have nothing but love for the newer healing classes that heal "incidentally" to dealing damage. Blood Mage, Disciple, the melee priests in WAR, Judgment of Li-oh-wait-nerfed. But honestly, this topic is discussed every 3-4 days here. People who don't like healing always go "healing is ass" and people who do like healing are too busy playing sims 3 and dressing up their dogs to care. At least, if I remember right, that's how the comparison goes...

Every mmo needs to steal that right there. I would gladly love and enjoy playing a healing class like that. Edit: I've seen many variations on healing classes to try and make them more interesting but it always boils down to some version of whack-a-mole while everyone else actually gets to watch the game and enjoy the art. Healers always end up staring at some bars and praying the god of spike damage smiles on them. And worst of all if someone dies because you lagged for 1.4 seconds during the bosses like crit double strike then guess whose taking all the blame? But if a rogue lags for 6.5 seconds who gives a fuck? Stress, drama, little appreciation, and the reward for all of that? Hey here's some gear so you can do it even more! Congrats! Now bend over.

| As a former cleric the only thing i strived after was fame. I wanted compliments to stroke my ego. So i tried to be the best at everything a cleric can do and sometimes surprise people. I think many healers want the social component rather then playing to raise the hitpoints of that tiny little retarded avatar. |

+2 Internets | I haven't minded being overlooked as a healer the past 6 years. My favorite is when rogues tell me my job is easier. (Which is basically the same job, with more carpal-tunnel) ..my dog is cute.... |
