Pretty much. They've all but said that classes should *barely* matter when forming your raid. Why not go all the way with it at this point.

All they need to do is have enough content or enough of a hook to keep people subscribed.

Every member of every guild that has killed the Lich King in IC25 could quit the game and it wouldnt even make a blip on their fiscal report. The original WoW might have been a labor of love and an effort to make a better Everquest but at this point its just about the benjamins.

And the funny thing is if all raiders quit it becomes even easier for Blizzard to manage since all they would have to worry about are the casuals. More Bliz store goodies, easier epic drops and turn it almost into a single player game. Pretty sad.

Is it just me or does that look so out of place? All super realistic water, then the land is back to the cartoony look for everything else. Looks so odd next to each other.

What looks hilarious is this picture. All new high-res stuff, except for the big stone in the center. Looks totally out of place. Compare it to the tower to the left. LOL. Those cacti aren't new either, but they don't look nearly as bad.

Eh, I'm sure if you got up close to the tower, it would look blurry and shitty like every other texture in WoW. Most look great from afar, but up close pretty much everything is blurry.

I wish they would release like an optional high res patch for everything, for people who don't still have hamsters powering their computers.

I'm pretty excited about this expansion. A lot of the changes should have been like that in the first place, especially 10's and 25's dropping the same loot. It seems terrible now, but only because we want to be able to farm both for loot. I also like the stat changes, and agree with most their reasoning for it. They let a lot of it get out of hand, they need to get back to basics and let the base stats take place of the extra shit they added. Also good to see Spirit will actually matter for every caster.

I'm wondering how DKs are going to compare to Warriors and Paladins with the new block changes. Very cool change, might just level up my Paladin just to hedge my bets. Although I can't wait to have my all-time favorite ability back with Bone Shield. I miss being Unholy spec, but it took a big hit for tanking when DKs got nerfed a while back.

They need to take advice from the guy who designed water in FFXI. To this day I haven't seen anyone do a better job of making something look so natural.

I'm interested in seeing how this is going to pan out as well.

From what I can tell, between Warriors and Paladins, the Paladins are getting the better deal. Consistently being able to reduce damage over multiple blocks seems to me to be a lot better than having a single critical block. How often are you going to critically block some bullshit 1k hit instead of the 10k one you'd much rather block? It seems a consistent damage reduction is a lot better simply because it's more reliable.

I'll still need to know more about DK's revamped tanking tree to make my decision as to what tank I'm going to take into Cataclysm.

No shit, same goes for Weather effects. FFXI has destroyed everyone else in those departments.

They are going to give DK tanks a new innate ability that has a % chance to proc a demonic shield that absorbs 50% physical damage and call it a day.
