Blizzard also caught excessive amounts of flak for the Draenei/Eredar (and lesser degree Blood Elf) retcon. I think they will avoid retconing on that scale in the future.

Not that writing Pandaren/Worgen to horde/alliance would be all that hard.

On the note of heirlooms with exp bonuses, my guess is they're going to have to limit the level they can add experience to per expansion. I haven't played WoW since TBC ... is there really any difference between a hero class and a normal one outside of the starting level

if the death knight is an incidation, they will start at a higher level with kickass gear and will be extremly overpowered at the start, only to be nerfed down later after Blizzard sold enough expansion boxes

The DK starting area/quest is (imho) one of the best in the game. You acquire a full set of blue gear, have a unique resource system, get a free mount, and start at level 55.

The bigger issue is probably what they'd do for gear. There's no cloth that has melee stats and no fist weapons that have caster stats. Also, they kinda played out the whole rune resource system with the DK to some extent.

Either way I hope they make the next class have 3 distinct talent trees. Most hybrids have the feel of having a 'sub-class' with notable distinction between them whereas DK play is too similar between specs to really care about respeccing.

They could have them use leather? Could also simply have them gear up on healing cloth(only one class using it atm, besides higher tier of armor users) and have a base ability that converts spellpower into AP(reversed DK system). The runesystem can be used other ways too, VG's Disciple uses basically a combo point system(only with up to 20 combo points) and you use a certain amount of these points to fuel heals specials(while rogue always uses up all of them). There's lots of ways to make it work, they just need to feel like doing it.

I was always confused why the went with making Survival a pure ranged tree instead of just upping its melee prowess from the bargain-basement and being "beastlord"ish, meleeing with your pet.

I mean, fuck, Hunters with fist weapons, wearing leather, Feign Deathing, and even "HUNTER ITEM" tards to match "MONK ITEM" tards from Alla's. It made sense

More MMOs need monks.

DK = has existing runes and uses them to perform abilities, then waits for cooldown on runes.

Runemaster = uses abilities to fill the runes (any combination they need) and then uses those runes to unleash stronger finishing moves.
