Should have moved to Hyjal with me instead of staying with Drakz and Dyschord. Haha sucker.

I'm pretty stoked. X-server LFG is going to really open up the community for those of us with friends on other servers. I know plenty of people on Mal'Ganis and Khadgar. Rated BG's should be fun and something I've been looking forward to for a long time.

The change to hunters and no more MP5 gives me hope that they'll do the same for other classes eventually. Mana is fucking retarded and the more they fail to balance it the better our chances of finally getting fuck rid of it.

Mastery could be interesting. There's a lot of 'meh' filler talents in some tree's that hopefully they make more interesting. For example right now if you remove the int/sp/crit talents from Healadins all you're left with is reduces curse duration and -mana cost on cleanse. Oh boy?

Haste should be interesting. Can't wait for the QQ'ing when my ret spec 3-shots people in 4 seconds instead of 4.5. <3

Only thing that I think is going to suck is Archaelogy and Path of the Titans. We'll see how it turns out but I have a feeling it's just going to be another big pain in my ass whenever I need to respec. They seriously need to bring in talent/glyph stables in addition to the dual-spec system.

From how I read it, the Path of the Titans will be seperate from the current Glyphs and will eventually allow everyone to get all the glyphs (with hardcore getting them all first, much like the hardcore XP grinders maxed out all their AA in EQ1 first). So I doubt respec will effect that since it appears to be just an alternate form of leveling, so to speak.

Yes, and you're just going to have to come to terms with that.

Bullshit...immersion is the single most important factor in the development of this genre. The entire point of this genre is to transport you to another world, and the more it can suspend your disbelief that that alternate world is fake, the more powerful the experience ends up being to the user. Lore is just one part of the larger concept of immersion.

Just ask yourself, if folks had to choose between two hypothetical extremes, which to you thing most people would choose? The funnest gaming experience in the world, or the most immersive alternate-reality in the world?

I don't know if I can. Content, gameplay, mechanics, the game itself - nothing matters except the fact you can play it as a furry thing? If I ever make a game I want you as my customer.

A > B. Entirely. WoW's lore is full of holes. I'm still curious...WHERE THE FUCK KUL TIRAS IS?

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...wpanel_032.jpg

It's supposed to be in the large bay on the west side of the eastern kingdoms. It has remained mysteriously missing through all of WoW. It is not an irrelevant location. Kul Tiras is one of the seven human kingdoms of the Alliance. Stormwind, Lordaeron, Kul Tiras, Stromgarde, Gilneas, Alterac, Dalaran. The island was huge. Refer to this to see. Man I feel immersed.

I can point out dozens of other fourth-wall issues. You might be able to immerse yourself if you're ignorant. Otherwise, you're clearly aware of the issues all the time. But the game is fucking fun, and most people don't know about this shit so they probably get the best of both worlds.

That doesn't make it any less engaging or interesting. It just shows everyone it's a game and after a while it goes through so many people that stories will conflict or change.

But you still need it.

But I agree, it was pretty stupid to forget a part of it. But lore is also given a time table and progressed and milestoned. I think they do a pretty damn good job considering the scope and popularity of the IP.

When you talk about immersion and fun in these types of games you really need both obviously. Concepts like fun are subjective though while idea of X-realm BG/Group/Furry Yiff Orgies, something I feel would dimension immersion and in turn part of the fun for me. There are quite a few here that seem to think it will bring them great enjoyment.

Lets take it to an extreme in two different directions, and I wonder which would be more fun/popular/immersive whatever.

A. If we are going to bypass realms with X-realm LFG's then why not just untie characters from realms all together. Let me log into my account select my character join the "Cocksuckers who think this will make it easier to find a group for SFK at 4:00am channel" find 4 other tards and then we select the server we want to log onto for the evening.

or

B. Think of ways to increase the population a server can handle so 1 server can handle the populous of 10 current servers. Both accomplish the same feat of providing a larger pool of DPS dipshits to wade through when looking for a group since Timmy doesn't want to join a guild or converse with people online the same time as he is and make some friends.

Random interjection:

I'm really stoked about rated BG's; I suggested more than once on the suggestion forums that there needed be an arranged team/random team ladder just like in wc3. I always had way more fun in RT than I did in AT simply because you had to be that much better to overcome having the random factor of how good your enemies are but also how bad your allies are.

What excites me the most is that you can do BG's to get gear comparable to arenas (assuming you get points/gear proportional to your rating; otherwise it will be god damn horrible). I hate arenas with a passion, but I would do arenas with my buddies so that I could go rip up baddies in battlegrounds on my resto shaman. The challenge of being one of the only good people on a team of terribles and fighting other terribles is what made PvP worth it for me.
