I am so glad I don't play WoW hardcore. The rage you guys have for the various aspects of the game must be hard to handle. As a casual WoW player who doesn't give a damn about raiding or battlegrounds, I really love the game. It is the most polished and well crafted MMORPG out there (that's not to say other MMORPGs sucks; I play them too) and I sure as hell am excited for this expansion.

I'm off and on. Definitely hardcore when I'm on, but regardless it's easy to see that WoW remains dominant in nearly every metric. The graphics and pvp are the most easily contestable components, but that's true of nearly every other game in the genre.

I'm very pleased with the direction they're apparently taking. I still think talent trees co-opting classes is a poor decision, but it's difficult to force the discussion on that issue when the related designs are handled well.

LK balanced tradeskill benefits, further refined quest hub flow, introduced vehicles and phasing, arguably balanced tanks, and provided more choices in raiding for everyone from the casual to the hardcore.

Classic feels like slogging through mud by comparison. Depending on the extent of this refurbish, they could really bring everything up to a similar level of quality.

I hope they don't take this as a chance to pack the old world to the brim with vehicles.

Seriously, fuck vehicles.

Yeah, the vehicle quests have been way overdone at this point.

i'm with you on that.

I seriously hope no more vehicles. That jousting shit they added in with the argent storyline is 10x worst than vehicles.

I hope we get more quests with vehicles you can't strafe in. In fact, they should remove strafing all together to make vehicles a more attractive design option. I really hate strafing, when you think about it it's just stupid. Who walks sideways!? Freaks, that's who.

I refuse to play the new 5 man solely on the basis that the first boss is one of those retarded jousting fights. I'd rather neck myself, quite frankly.

The easiest they could do as a first step would probably be not allowing to 'need' on stuff you can not wear.

That still leaves the door open for a lot of bullshit, maybe bliz should supply a 'people I do not want to group with ever again list' UI function that prevents me from joining a group with such a person again.

From MMO-champ:

"It will come with its own reward systems. If you're the leader of a PUG and complete the dungeon succesfully you will be rewarded"

Im not really sure what they mean by that. But almost sounds like they wont use the basic /random system

The only time I didn't like vehicles is when they had that warlock-pet bug where you couldn't use any of it's abilities. Other then that, I don't understand the mass hate for them.

Maybe part of me misses playing BF1942 and dominating people who didn't know how to fire+move at the sametime!

To me it sounds like they're rewarding the retards who are so bad that nobody will invite them to a group so they have to start their own. Good move.

Well, the only point of vehicles is that you can't usually strafe. There were even supposed to be aerial fights in WG and they removed them because it destroyed the server. I mean there is no acceleration, no momentum, no need to control your speed, you just press W and appropriate abilities. It is basically failed idea that they continue to feed to the playerbase whether they want it or not.

The Glaive Throwers in the new BG are a much better implementation in my mind. Very high damage and hard to aim abilities. It makes a properly manned one a lot more dangerous than your w-112 spammer.

And that was totally a PvE spec, Rusty! Granted not an ideal one.
