Next expansion... 1: Create a new continent(They can poof out of thin air, but ok, add some lore to it) 2: On this continent, there are new resources that must be gathered for new improvements. In fact this new continent could even have new rare creatures that potentially dropped new mounts. 3: Guild halls can now be created on this continent based on territory control. To simplify, look at DAoC's system. Thier RvR territory control system sums it up nicely. You could siege other castles/Halls for control. 4: Control gets you new resources and new dungeons with new loot. 5: Instead of increasing the level cap, add a 3rd faction of races. The neutral races who are damn tired of alliance and Horde constantly questing all over them. This 3rd faction would have all new quests and of course would want territory of thier own. They could include Merlocs, Goblins and for you panda loving people, Pandarians. 6: Of course you would have plenty of little things like guild hall features based around gold upkeep(Have to drain that economy). That is a general idea, but that expansion would be ....an expansion, not a rerun of what we have been doing the last 2 expansions. That would bring the War back into World of Warcraft.

I must throw in what I would want in an expansion though. Instead of raising the level cap to 90.. or even raising it at all, I think someone mentioned this earlier in the thread, add a few new huge zones with a bit more quests. The quests could act as armor or spell upgrades that aren't necessary to further progress your character, but would greatly help. You could have other rare drops like from AQ20 with the books that gave you a new rank of a spell or whatever. Or maybe even put in class quest chains to get epic or legendary items. (Now that epic and legendary don't mean anything anyways~) Also, with the raiding.. Quite a bit of it isn't a challenge anymore, I don't think only top guilds should be able to do the content.. but the game is now so forgiving of bad players that whine about content being too hard, not realizing that they are standing in the fire. Who knows what they'll do. I'll say I won't buy it because I hate the current state of Wrath.. But I will.

| Completely true. It's disappointing. It was like that back with EQ too though. I just want a new PvE oriented MMO like older WoW and even EQ raid content... the finished content. Not the "Hey, we don't actually test this, so here find our bugs" content every patch. |

2. Did you forget time lost proto drake? So r u saying more mobs like this? 3. See my #1. I say each guild hall builds a town slightly smaller than Dalaran with the basic needs for a small city with killable walls that can be reinforced by lets say something like Pyrite. Kind of like what EVE does to reinforce Player Owned Objects with (Stront??) so they can't be destoryed while people are offline. 4. I had an idea of roaming Epic/Boss mobs around these guild halls/castles.. but dungeons, mobs whatever, just something that gives a slight gain but nothing overboard to those who can afford/maintain/conquer one of these structures. 5. Level Cap has yet to be a problem in WoW. It just seperates the hardcores, from the semi hardcores, from the casuals, to the super casuals. If anyone complains about Blizzard Level Caps they should stick to FPSs.

| WoW is too pussy for *anything* remotely dynamic. Any chance of that ended years ago when they made open world pvp worthless and a hassle, even of "pvp" servers. Give it up, face that fact that everything in WoW will always be ezmode instance and no competition.

I'm in the same boat. I'm generally referred to as "casual" but I actually play quite a bit, I just spend that time on alts and on solo shit. I don't have a problem with raiding I just have an inconsistent schedule and it's too hard to find people who aren't retarded and/or assholes. It's the same reason I gave up on trying to keep a band together IRL. I sometimes get sad that there's content I'm not getting to experience (or at least not anywhere close to when it's new) but it sure seems like the people raiding do a lot more bitching than people like me, which I don't mean as a criticism of them.

| I enjoy WoW, though mostly I play because I currently have an abundance of free time to kill, when that changes I'll probably stop playing with no real regret. It's more of a fun, social way to kill time than anything I derive any real kind of excitement out of these days. |

These things have always been discussed. Back in Star Wars Galaxies it was honestly one key thing that was missing, and that was PvP territory control for resources and crafting. It would have appeased both PvPers, (Fighting for tangible rewards) PvE'ers (New flashy gear and cool rare guns/mounts) and Crafters, (Rare resources to harvest and new schematics and stuff to make) but it was never done. Unfortunately with what you have on the table there just isn't any good way around population imbalances at the moment when dealing with a 10+ million player pool scattered over 100+ servers.

| you could balance it with free faction transfers and incentives to people transferring to the side that is most often outnumbered. Thats prolly the only way to balance a 2 sided faction war, thats why games like DAOC use three before mythic got stupid. I would love to play an expansion where they added housing to the old world and did phases of them where you battled for territory control in the old world and resources... phasing is really their way to do that without fucking over people leveling. WoW sadly seems kinda set in the mold and isnt doing much new anymore. Last edited by Tolanin; 07-09-2009 at 07:36 AM.. |
