As a warlock it makes me weep. There is a difference between R1 and R8 life tap. Oh well, time to be a bigger strain on the healers to maximize uptime on the glyph.

I thought one of the things that made it more fun to level was to train your new spells every 2 levels because it was like a 'reward' after leveling to become more powerful. If I was at an odd level I would just say, cmon next lvl I get new spells and keep going. Now there is none of that, spells will become more powerful every level automatically, the only time you need to hit a trainer is when learning a new spell. Which can be anywhere from 4-10 levels in the lower brackets. Meh.

Spell ranks were sometimes fun because you got a big boost in power every once in a while. Like the level 49 necromancy pet or something. But it's pretty steady with new-ranks in WoW. The big boosts was a new spell or a new talent. Removing the ranks doesn't change the game for me.

Ha ha this reminds me that you had to practice certain spells after you leveled or else you spells would continuously fizzle. Nothing sucked more then having just leveled gotten new spells and have them fizzle repeatedly because you had to get your spell skills up. I remember standing there with my druid casting invis on myself over and over to get conjuration up because it was the least used spell skill. Oh and who could forget needing to carry meaningless food and water in your inventory all the time or else it would affect you negatively.

Druids got a spell at level 13 to conjure food and water, could have just used that!

Plenty of times. Most notable on Vezax where you don't actually get mana back for the life spent. Also as the prefight warmup charging the illustration. R1 health funnel x9 and R1 life tap for the 10 stack and the glyph buff.

It's also used as a finesse thing say coming out of the Black Hole on Algalon. Use R8 tap on the run in to refill mana. Hit a R1 just before phasing back in to maximize buff uptime without taking the extra 2500 dmg.

his point is that most spells didn't down rank anymore i believe. as in, rank 1 cost same mana as rank 50. they implemented that a while back though.
