Im going to watch the market once 3.2 goes live. I have a feeling a lot of people just naturally have badges banked to a large amount and they will all try to make a mint off epic gems. So we could see something where epic gems start off cheap and then get more expensive as time goes on

ding ding ding ding ding ding ding.

what will happen is this: mass flooding, everyone blowing all their badges. 3 - 4 weeks later, supply has dwindled down, people realized running heroics still sucks ass, so now just buying them since there are new dailies for new bullshit rewards.

the big demand will be the raw mats to make the crafted boots/belts. titansteel/ebonweave/moonshroud/etc will be expensive for a while.

Some eventually quit that don't need the money from Crusader Orbs, others continue to run them because pumping out a Crusader Orb every 5 days is going to be a shitload of money.
Fixed.

And if the drop rate is good from the saronite ore, the gems will stay cheap from people prospecting->creating jewelry->disenchanting. I did that a few (hundreds) of times and the amount of rare gems I got was quite large. I think prospecting will still be the main source of gems for people after the initial rush.

9 Marks of Wintergrasp or 30 Stone Keeper Shards convert into 2k honor Bind on Account items.

A discusson of the epic gem market has been ongoing in the EJ Art of Making Gold thead.

My personal take:
High-end raiders are likely to have emblems banked, however they will also be using most of their emblems to buy epic gems for use in their own gear. Lots of 3.2 gear has 3 sockets to high-end raiders will have a high demand for epic gems.

Middle to Low-end players will likely have smaller piles of emblems already banked. However most will have 0 exposure to ulduar yet and will have a large shopping list of Conquest tier items that they want, followed by Valor tier items they haven't bought yet, followed by runed orbs for crafted gear.

Some may convert to epic gems to cash out, but most lower end people will have many alternatives to spend their new conquest emblems on before they flood the market.

I've personally been investing in titanium ore stacks, Eternals, and blue quality gems. Gems are used in the alchemy transmutes, Eternals are also used in the transmutes, and also used to make a lot of components of the Runed Orb recipes that many raiders may still want.

Titanium Ore is for a chance at early epic gems, and titanium dust to buy extra tokens for extra cuts.

these are the questions in my mind that I don't really know the answers to:

1. will many/most raiders immediately convert all their blue gems to epic gems on the first week of 3.2? I may, but I also know a ton of lazy raiders who will just "wait for new gear".

2. how fast will new gear dribble out? I know its 1 boss/week for the first 5 weeks, can you access hard mode without clearing the regular raid? If not, it'll be 5 weeks before x4 raids are run (10, 25, 10h, 25h).

3. will people want to upgrade all their gear to 226 conquest/crafted gear, or will they just wait to pug the new raids and gear up that way?

I do like the idea of converting maybe 1/3d of badges/honor to epic gems the first week, and then holding off on the rest until supply/demand stabilize - probably at least 6-8 weeks in, since we'll have arena s7 start and last boss unlock around week 5. The only (bad?) thing is you can farm ahead right now so much; if you run WG 3-4x a day on offense and do 2-3 heroics you can easily farm enough to buy a hundred or more epic gems. WG especially, since you can basically be AFK and once patch 3.2 hits access to WG will be severely limited.

Depends on how hard the raid content is in 3.2 honestly. Most of our raiders will upgrade to epic gems within a couple weeks.

Definitely sell all your runed orbs now though, even if you are saving them for your own crafted item(s). That market is gonna tank once 3.2 comes out.

Agility: The amount of agility required per percentage of dodge has been increased by 15%. This change required recalibrating the amount of dodge a player has with 0 agility by a slight amount as well, so all players will see their dodge percentage vary a small amount.
Dodge Rating: The amount of dodge rating required per percentage of dodge has been increased by 15%. This is before diminishing returns. Combined with other changes, this makes dodge rating and parry rating equally potent before diminishing returns apply.
Parry Rating: The amount of parry rating required per percentage of parry has been reduced by 8%. This is before diminishing returns. Combined with other changes, this makes dodge rating and parry rating equally potent before diminishing returns apply. Parry still diminishes more quickly than dodge.
Woah.

Ardent Defender: Redesigned. Any damage that takes the paladin below 35% health is reduced. This reduction applies only to the portion that pushes the paladin below 35% health (example: a paladin at 50% health takes a 40% hit; the first 15% hits as normal while the next 25% is reduced). In addition, once every 2 minutes an attack that would have killed the paladin will fail to kill, and instead heal the paladin for up to 10/20/30% of maximum health depending on the paladin's defense rating (example: a paladin with defense equal to only 5 times his or her level will receive no healing from the talent, while a paladin who is immune to critical strikes from boss creatures through defense will receive the maximum amount).
Did anyone NOT see this one coming?

Cheat Death is still pretty OP any way you slice it, and I'd imagine will require the use of a mod to track properly.

The resurrect effect is completely fair. It's Paladin Last Stand.

The reduction effect is completely retarded broken. It's exactly the same as +15% HP. That's absolutely ridiculous. BiS Ulduar 50k HP Paladin becomes 57.5k HP Paladin, that's Druid level hitpoints and they have guaranteed block so it's more like 62k HP. On top of that they get 90-sec shield wall and four other cooldowns.

I don't get why they do this every patch. Every tank is total and utter garbage compared to 3.2 Paladins with that talent.

It's more than Last Stand. It's completely immune from judgement errors that every other cooldown comes with, and thus has the potential to be the single best one. Giving up your control of using it, and opening yourself up to things like not having it available when you 'need' it because your healers fucked up or something, is an easy trade off to make imo.

Also, unless I'm misreading something here, it means you can take a hit for a million damage and come out with 30% of your maximum health. That's still pretty fuckin OP.

Apparently you need to clear it fully in either 10 or 25 man before being allowed heroic.
