If they can't fix it so instances are available, at least give us some form of queue so we don't have to ram up against a portal for fifteen minutes trying to get in.

I'm curious about this too, haven't played WoW for well over 2 years and wouldn't mind giving it a try again.

Do they still launch new servers every now and then nowdays (in Europe), or do they just keep giving people free migrations?

Very rarely, usually when an expansion is released I think, if even then.

Well, that sucks. I guess there's no point in starting from a scratch this late then.

you can be balls deep in ulduar within 2 weeks of hitting 80, the next patch 3.2 is also essentially a gear reset. great time to reroll.

I'd take this with a grain of salt.
Possible? Yes
Without knowing the people running it? Unlikely

For what it's worth, my younger brother recently levelled up a priest; having absolutely 'no' raid experience in WoW, ever, and with no friends ingame to help him except those he's met since starting, he's gone from a fresh 80 to being more or less fully epic geared and having done 2/3 of Ulduar (on easymode) in two weeks.

Being a healer and a good player probably helped him a hell of a lot, but it really is that easy now days, and with the badge change in 3.2 it's only going to be more ridiculous. It's slightly tougher as DPS (as I'm discovering on my warlock), but as long as you don't mind sucking it up in the PUG scene and using a mod to fake achievements it's absurdly easy.

underachiever, people are catching on so it'll probably be useless in a month or so, but it's a good tool for playing the catch up game now, otherwise actually trying to get into PUGs is absurd

Shamelessly stolen from warcraftpets.com :

Raptors
Many of the new raptor hatchlings have been discovered on the PTR. They are all currently BoU. Those that are dropped by rare raptors currently have a 100% drop rate. Here is a list of the ones found so far:

* Darting Hatchling - Dark orange raptor that occasionally runs away leaving a trail of dust; dropped by Dart (rare).
* Deviate Hatchling - Purple raptor dropped by elite raptors inside Wailing Caverns.
* Leaping Hatchling - Dark blue raptor that occasionally wanders off then leaps to your feet; dropped by Takk the Leaper (rare).
* Obsidian Hatchling - Gray raptor sold by Breanni.
* Ravasaur Hatchling - Green raptor dropped by Ravasaur Matriarch (rare).
* Razormaw Hatchling - Light orange raptor that occasionally screeches; dropped by Razormaw Matriarch (rare).
* Razzashi Hatchling - Red raptor dropped by Razzashi Raptor.

Orphans
It looks like Northrend Children's Week will finally be coming to a server near you! You can choose to look after either an Oracle or Wolvar orphan, regardless of your current standings with their corresponding factions. After completing the chain of quests, you will receive a new orphan pet in the mail - a Curious Oracle Hatchling or a Curious Wolvar Pup.

Other News
As reported previously, the next patch will give you the option to upgrade your Argent Squire or Gruntling with a mount and access to a bank, mailbox, or vendor. The [Argent Pony Bridle] can be purchased for 150 Champion's Seals. Once upgraded, your squire will mount up on his pony whenever you mount up. He can grant you access to the bank, mailbox, or vendor for 3 minutes once every 4 hours. This video shows him in action.

Not familiar with Blizzard's patch cycle, is there any kind of ETA for 3.2?

You can expect PTR raid testing to go on for 3-6 weeks, depending on how completed the encounters are. With the new BG, I'd say an easy 2 months total testing on PTR followed by 1-2 weeks of deployment prep and we haven't even started any actual PTR testing. If we see this patch within 2 months, I'd be very surprised.

Can anyone think of any reason to save badges beyond the day patch 3.2 hits? Across all my chars I have something close to 3000 badges I think, which should net somewhere around 200 epic gems. Plus of course PVP honor, but hopefully there is something new to buy with that. Plus Wintergrasp tokens, I've collected an insane amount just by trying to play in 1 offense every day, and i think 15 tokens convert to 2k honor?

My guess is patch 3.3, aka Icecrown, will not intro new epic gems but instead new head/shoulder enchants, so I can't really think of a good reason to save heroism/valor badges beyond 3.2 launch day.

Not sure how the day-0 dynamics are going to work out, when Inscription came out I made 15k+ gold just cranking out the top glyphs, almost same amounts when 3.1 hit and got a few glyph books. But it seems like everyone and their brother are JCs, and everyone is going to learn bold/runed red recipe, so will it just be a FFA race-to-the-bottom on the AH for those gems? I wonder if pursuing a cut of something like +sp/spi or +arp would be better - beyond the pure +sp, +str, +ap not sure which gems are hot sellers.

I honestly don't think that epic gems will be that expensive. There will be way too many people like spronk with a bazillion badges and too many people like me who will calculate how many more heroics they need to do to get enough badges to get the epic gems for a full set of gear.

It's possible that there will be enough scrubs who don't prepare for the patch and will need to buy them off the AH, but it's hard to imagine that the AH won't be immediately flooded with cheap gems.

Additionally, because the recipes are gotten using jewelcrafter's tokens and not rare drops, most guilds will have a JC with all the recipes very quickly, dropping the value of taking a raw gem and turning it into a specific one.
