I have a question here.. really don't want to ask this.

I have to quit raiding for the school year, just with working full-time and going to school full-time (with a girlfriend), I just can't commit to the strenuous 9 hours a week my guild raids. I started PVPing just to keep myself interested in the game at this point, aside from my one jewelcrafting daily. I have two options here. I can level up my mage and just pvp with him, or pvp on my DK who is in full 219/226 pve gear. How do the two compare in arena and in bgs with 3.2 looming ahead? Before you answer, I don't want some Rusty_dagger bullshit garbage up my ass, just want to know how the two classes fare in pvp right now.

DKs are more faceroll and easier in arenas - more survivability, better burst, etc. mages do ok (top to middle-top) but kind of require very specific comps to do well. A lot changes next week in patch 3.2 with all the DK nerfs so its hard to say who will be FOTM then.

I have both > 1500 and I enjoy my DK way more, don't have to try very hard. My mage requires a lot more luck and teamwork and gear.

None of the "DK nerfs" remove the specific abilities that make DK's ludicrously OP, so stick with the DK. Their toolbox is roughly double the size of any other class, and several of their abilities are so powerful that they shouldn't even exist.

Amazing how you ask a silly question that 5 minutes spent on this or any other forum would answer, a quesiton you should know had you actually played both classes and had even a basic understanding of their mechanics, yet have the gaul to throw insults my way. Maybe put a modicum of effort into the game and actually take 3 seconds to think for yourself instead of just going the lazy route?

Is it really that difficult to find out that DK's are substantially easier to play and get success with than mages?

It's definitely not my intention to come off as QQing about DK's, I was simply suggesting sticking with his DK since its already leveled, has good PVE gear, and right now in PVP, is probably the strongest class all-around.

As for citation of abilities that shouldn't exist, or shouldn't exist in their current form, close your eyes and point to the screen. Death Grip, Strangulate and Chains of Ice are a good beginning point.

So you're saying that any class with a snare, an interrupt and some way to get to their target is overpowered?

I guess that's one way to interpret what I said.

For those of you who 2-box who have asked me in the past and I advised you use synergy, I was linked a much better program. Can get it at Input Director

Pretty much trumps the shit out of synergy. Doesn't minimzie 'full screen' games when you switch to a new screen, no need to lock the screen to fix the relative mouse movement issue, no keyboard glitches, can do a trippy 'pinging' of the mouse when you switch screens so you get a better idea of where the fuck the thing is if a lot of shit is going on.

Only problem is that it's windows only but I end up using putty to access my linux box these days anyways so don't exactly miss it.

Why aren't you using Innerspace with ISBoxer by now? I thought synergy was great until I ran this and have 4 characters running seamlessly.
