Question about the settings: what sucks up the most RAM?

I played on the highest quality setting and it works fairly well (about 40FPS) until it crashes for lack of RAM

I only have 3GB and apparently it needs 4GB. What should I try disabling first?

Shadows.

Although the new shadows they just implemented might have changed that, but for years Shadows were the biggest, most innefficient computer-hog.

If your shadows are set to CPU then change them to GPU and see if that doesn't help you. I found a significant difference in running between the two.

*sigh* If you have the trial, do NOT buy the retail game. You cannot upgrade from the trial with it... Instead, go to the subscription settings and change your subscription.

If anyone is considering upgrading from pre-Kunark or wants to start a new account -> PM me. Kunark key includes 30 days if the account is new and for $10 it's yours.

I bought the "retail" game on steam and could upgrade my trial just fine.

I put some 18 Slot bags in the third tab of the guild bank. Can find them on the broker for ~15g a piece as well.

Hmm, told me I already had access to all the content the key was for. Although it does seem to be a special offer on the EQ2 website. You get everything up to Kunark free if you subscribe.

The steam deal actually had two keys. One for Kunark and one for the latest expansion, SO. I tired putting the Kunark key in on a trial account and it gave me the same message: I already had access to all the content for this key. I haven't tried putting the SO key on the trial account yet.

I kinda missed a lot of the discussion maybe. but did a FoH channel end up being created?

I play on permafrost and am going to stay there, but I wouldn't mind chatting with board folks and helping with questions and advice....and can cross server chat. so I figured if one was created i'd try to jump up in that.
