Antonia Bayle. Every once in a while it gets overloaded and performance blows, but it has like 3x the population of most other servers which is really nice for grouping to max lvl.

Yeah, there's about two or three really well-populated servers (AB, Unrest isn't too bad, the PvP server, etc) and a bunch of ghost towns. It's well overdue for another round of server mergers IMO.

Makata and I had a talk about EQ2 PVP; Essentially, his class (Mystic) is broken and Blizzard has a conspiracy to keep him down.

EQ2 pvp is pretty fun now. However, to get your PvP gear the quickest it's a dogpile, AoE war in Kylong Plains. I say it's fun only because most classes have been given attention. Casters are somewhat more feared, there are an influx in tanks, and scouts have been nerfed somewhat but still can cause a lot of problems.

You can revive until your entire group dies and there's a 10 minute wait between writ quests. PvP gear gives you some PvP bonuses as you get the set and there are several other things that have cleaned up PvP.

I still wish there was a PvP game/server that was more relevant to the overall gameplay. I thought WAR would have it. I wish there was a point to controlling lands and not just an orgy in a single zone for gear but, overall just player wise, EQII is pretty solid.

You'll have more fun PvP'ing in your late 70's and 80 in EQ2 than you will in any other game simply because it's non-stop. It's not perfect and it's still a PvE game with a PvP option.

In regards to the best server.... I would say AB and Nagy have the highest populations. However, I know a lot of people from the EQI days who play on Blackburrow and Kithicor.

20% Bonus XP on all servers atm, presumably as a "5 years of EQ2" celebration perk.

...fuck, five years of EQ2 and WoW. I feel old now.

Is there any class that doesn't require 20 different skills used per mob yet?

That's kind of an integral part of the game.

Spellcasters use considerably fewer than 20 for several classes.

And if you're the cure-bitch you can just bind cures to random buttons on your keyboard and faceroll left to right while cycling your raid target.

Healers are better for this I think. On my templar I have 20 different skills I might use, but I mostly just use 5-6 and combining situational awareness with raidwide hp/detrimental/etc awareness is a lot more relevant. Slow casters (wizard/warlock?) should also be better for this. Fast casters (summoners/enchanters) as well as tanks and I believe scouts still pound the snot out of their keyboard.

I used to hate hate hate hate the button spamming involved in EQ2, but after a bit at max lvl I no longer really notice it. Sure I am spamming a dozen spells on my conjy.. but as long as I have UT I have the rhythm on how to cast them down and I don't notice it much.

My friend and I just recently sold off our EQ accounts, and almost immediately started to miss playing an MMO. We both decided to give EQ2 another shot, after playing it at release for 5-6 months.

My question is about what duo classes would anyone recommend?

From this thread, I've gotten an insight on how many of the classes work these days, but haven't gotten a grasp on what duo would make for great duo leveling, but just as easily pick up a few more and head to a dungeon.

Any suggestions?

Edit: Just found my account, and this is what I have. Would it be worth it to sub up to get these rewards, or just do a free trial? EQ1 vet rewards are pretty good. No idea about EQ2s.

The vet rewards are mostly tradeskill and exp potions.

Me and buddy just decided to go Ranger / Paladin. Haven't heard anything about either one, so hopefully we didn't gimp ourselves.

Shadowknight instead of Paladin, and then betray to Paladin later if you really want to be one.

Shadowknights are just flat out superior for leveling.
