FoH EQ2 bout

I haven't played EQ2 in many years. I put together a nice new computer in December and it should be able to handle EQ2 just fine, so I am thinking about resubscribing and joining the guild. You guys don't mind if I play very casually, do you?

I played a Coercer at the release of EQ2 up to lvl 30 and enjoyed it, but I assume the class has changed quite a bit since then. Are very useful in groups? Can they solo decent enough?

Also, I just checked my EQ2 account details on Station.com and it says I have the following:

Now I have never bought an expansion for the game, but do those "Entitlements" mean that the expansions are activated for me? If so then I should be activated up to Rise of Kunark. Is there any benefit for me to get the newest expansion if I plan on starting up a new character? I would assume that by the time I reach a high level that a new "all-in-one" expansion will be out, so I am thinking about holding off on the newest expansion unless it offers something really good for all levels.

Finally, what is the actual name of the server you guys are all on? I only skimmed through most of the posts in this thread, but I have only seen the abbreviation "AB".

I'll leave the other questions to people who still play. That said, SOE recently did a promotion in EQ/EQ2 where they activated all expansions up to the current content and told players if they resubscribed they would get them for free. It seems they did this across all accounts though for people who didn't even log in anyway. So, yeah, you have all those ready and waiting for you to patch and play.

I could get the vet rewards on my trial account, so not sure these have a meaning anymore. I don't get all these rewards though, but most of them. The best item is definitely the trial cloak though, +25%run speed, makes everything less annoying, and there's so few cloaks at low levels it doesn't matter all that much that it has no other stats.

it's predominantly 80 content (and decently geared 80, not an 80 in quest gear, MC will let you limp by till you can get some shards). All 'most up to date' expansion boxes in eq2 offer all previous expansions. so i'm sure if you can hold out till february TSO will be boxed in with Sentinel's Fate.

The benifits of buying before 80, is that some TSO zones scale (but not well, they're still pretty rough). and you can purchase the AA based purely on aa number, not level. so it's techincally useable (though you'll have more than enough aa to tide you over without it).

I have a few lvl 30+ characters on Perma as well, but I figured I would jump into this guild since I don't know anyone currently playing.

I was able to get all patched up and I started up as a Dark Elf Coercer. Graffin (Adam12) showed me to Timorous Deep and filled me in on some changes to the game. Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll try and level up quick to catch up with some of you folks.

Just signed back up myself, had a mid 30's DE Wiz on another server. Went ahead and restarted new DE Wiz on AB, figure thats a good way to relearn a lot of the game, been years since I played. Looks pretty good on the new system.

Patching back up now....39 Bruiser named Pongo (already in Mistwalkers). I checked my other account, and all my characters are gone. They show up on EQ2 players, but when I last logged on, they were all missing.

Mentor to a higher level guy, watch as he rapes half the zone at one time.

get a class that's good at PLing, like an SK, and wach the levels fly by. Mentoring is broken as hell when you have topish end equipment, the older the content, the more broken it is.

To put it in perspective, Mentoring down to get her yellow, I've trioed vox before.

Active players, iirc:

Rogue - 1 (Genj/Brig)
DPS - 2 (Disgruntled/wiz) (Cyni/monk)
CC - 1 (Knellict/Illu) and a couple of lower lvl ones
Priests - 3 (Aresties/Defiler) (Adam12/Warden) (Soris/Inq)
Tanks - Over 9000 SK's.

So yeah, no one is playing a bard.
