| REDLIN3D | Haha didnt someone complain about instant scenario queues? I remember days when destruction had hour long queues while order had fucking instant queues, rediculous. Yes I realized after we had 10 minute queues that I couldnt quest as much but fuck its a lot nicer to do scenarios (and win) than waiting an hour and getting to 40 with 25 RR cause your queues took hours to pop while order has 40 rr by time they're 40. |

| I found the game to be a blast up to around level 21. I think most folks that played would agree with that. Yeah, buggy but I've seen worse (and better). My experience with the game was from FP open-beta through 3 months after release. Hopefully it is better now. I sooo wanted to rock a WH but other than flag running in some scenarios, the class sucked. Speaking of classes, how are AM's these days?

Here's another example of why they blow: When Mark Jacobs addressed the issues with tier leveling his response was that he wished to have created a dozen tiers of content as opposed to just four. His response to long queue times, an overly segmented player base (divide total server population by 2, then by 3, then by however many PQs/dungeons/scenarios/rvr lakes were active), and a complete lack of polish or appearance of professionalism was to wish that he could exacerbate every single issue by dividing the world up even more. He is a dumb person, and the only thing that makes Warhammer attractive anymore is the fact he's not helming it.

Archmages are good now, they shifted the mastery trees around now. The good news is the heal tree rocks, and everyone now gets instant cast ground target AE snare. The bad news is you have to spec for your silence, and the heal debuff is further up the tree.

Say what you will about WAR, but every game should try to advance that queue from anywhere from level 1 into a pvp scenario. Leveling that way had it's problems but overall it was fantastic. A high pop server with scenarios every few minutes was a lot of fun.

| The Warhammer forums are getting more and more active with people posting about Aion. I sense bad times ahead for Warhammer.

| If Aion keeps consistent with the early levels then yeah I think WAR (and AoC when I think about it) is looking at bad times. Having played most of the classes to the teens to get a feel for them I think its going to do really well in the states. Only thing Mythic can really hope for is that Aion is just too "asian" for a lot of NA players, and doesn't really catch on like it has on the other side of the pond. Going to be interesting to see how Aion is doing a year from now in NA. |

| I believe so but not completely sure. It would be retarded of them to make the same mistake FF11 did and try to mix us. Some people can make it work, but a lot can't. Doesn't seem smart from a business angle. |

+2 Internets | Not sure if this is the right forum (vs. the "slightly less popular" game development forum), but the CTO of Mythic is talking at the Autodesk Booth at SIGGRAPH on Wednesday at 1pm. The presentation is "Warhammer using Autodesk 3ds Max and Kynapse" by Matt Shaw, CTO, Mythic Entertainment, an EA Studio. You can watch it streaming live for free at The Area :: Siggraph 2009 - it's under "Day 2". (You may have to register, not sure.) Not sure how many people here are 3D artists or are into AI/crowd simulation, but it should be at least an interesting peak into the dev pipeline @ Mythic. Edit: Here's another presentation about WAR from SIGGRAPH: The Area :: Inhouse Video ("In this demonstration see how Mythic Entertainment Art Director, Greg Grimsby, solves some of the the art challenges in the making of W.A.R. with Autodesk(R) 3ds Max(R), and Kynapse." +6 Internets | I've pretty much had it with this game. Performance is shit. Balance is nonexistent. The state of Destro on DC, and as a whole, is abysmal. Perhaps if I had rolled on Praag instead, where Destro have been inexplicably roflstomping Order for the past few months, I wouldn't feel this will crushing depression every time I log in. IC locked again? Fourth time this week? Sweet. Dramatic, I know, but god damn. I should have quit before now, I just didn't want to be a part of the mass exodus, further hindering my faction's chances to turn it around, but it's too late now. Aion cannot get get here soon enough. I know it isn't going to be the second coming, but it's more polished, complete, and enjoyable than Warhammer will likely ever be. |

Oh, it WILL be the second coming. I hope WAR falls apart and brings more pvp'ers to Aion as a result.

+39 Internets | Considering the amount of whine there was on WAR at release because "zomg lvl 27 takes 6hours to do entirely on quests or scenarios", I think a lot of people will get turned off by Aion "hardcore" leveling type. It's not super crazy, but it's sure not wow2 and getting to max lvl should take some effort, and quite a bit of time. Was the same with AoC, mass whining about how you had to grind, or group to level. And Aion is pretty much that past 30, it's grind or group, questing doesn't take you very far. |

Some people in region chat today were discussing Aion and seem to think it is going to be WoW with better pvp. Nasty little wake up calls incoming I think heh.
