The random WoW/other MMO shit thread

Feel like there isn't a thread that suits your current needs? Don't feel like posting your own? Post all your random off topic shit here. People been saying "omfg read the whole thread", why should I when its "omg there's twinks in pre 80 pvp" and "what's recruit a friend".

Here's a start: battlegrounds.

Should we level up through them. go.

(you may respond with recruit a friend questions or dk dps specs etc, this is after all, the random shit thread).

if I were in charge of POTBS, it would probably rival WoW for subscribers now.

A quote from Blizzard:
"On the topic of Leviathan's Coil, we were originally happy with the armor value. However, when we looked at it further, we realized the entire ring was over-budget."

So I guess they don't have a little item budget input output machine? Are they just winging stats on items and magically getting them right? How does this happen, conjectures welcome!

Best place for Horde to level 11-20 is the Barrens. Good dk leveling spec is blood.

Yeah, you know what, hate me all you want for starting this thread but some people can't click new thread and make a "I wanna come back to WoW wtf do I do thread" and instead gunk up/derail the other threads.

If we're talking WoW-specific here, I'll say no. THe problem with doing that is the battlegroup - letting people spend their whole time leveling up with people from a variety of servers completely undermines any sense of server community (which is already kind of tenuous in WoW anyway, at least on some servers).

On a mostly unrelated note, I started back up a few weeks ago after not having played since TBC and am really enjoying WoW again - Lake Wintergrasp in particular is a lot of fun. In general there is an awful lot to do and the old days of raid or BG are long gone.

No, they're not. It's raid, BG(WG is a BG), or daily quests...just like it was in TBC. Nothing has changed.

Does anyone find leveling 1-58 absolutely agonizing? Even with the reduced level exp/increase quest exp it's just mind numbing. The only class I've actually enjoyed leveling from scratch lately has been a hunter. I've tried a mage, priest, and warlock as well and it's just painful.

it's funny how this is true for every single game, especially since in 2004 we claimed that leveling would never suck in WoW because it's just that good.
I'm wondering when we'll get to the point where having a levelcapped character will allow you to create a levelcap -x character right away.

DAoC got to that point six years and a day ago.

I can't be arsed to level anymore, period. Just because there is always something better to do with one of my 80s. I have a priest at 60 for the past 3 years and every week I log in to him, spend about 15 mins in hfp trying to do something, and say fuck this shit and jump back on my DK or mage to go do some dailies for gold, solo stratholme, or join one of the thousand raid pugs starting up all the time, etc. I have much more fun raiding AQ40 than doing the same quests in old zones.

Another cool option would be similar to RAF if you could "grant" xp to an alt by doing shit on your main, even at highly reduced rates. ie every mob I kill on my 80 grants me 10xp that I can grant to any of my alts. Maybe it stops at level cap-5 or whatever, but anything to let me skip the tedium of playing undercap characters.

Ya know every class should have the ability to perform more than 1 function in PvE via talent switching, mages a heal tree (sort of like discpriest but with explosions), warlocks and hunters get their tank tree pet/talents/skills, and rogues get to steal aggro from other people and evasion tank. shit for thought eh ?

No thanks, I enjoy DPSing and have absolutely no desire for my class to even be remotely associated with the task of tanking or healing.

And yes please to BG XP. Low level BG's are currently dead to anyone who doesn't want to sink hundreds of gold and create a dedicated twink. I'd love to be able to just take some time off grinding and go do a few WSG or AB matches, but currently it's impossible because I just get two-shot by twinked out rogues. It really adds a lot of tedium to the levelling process, and getting rid of twinks and simultaneously allowing me to advance through PvP at low levels would add a whole lot of fun back to the 1 - 79 game.

Also, how fucking fun is Ulduar? I was kind of ambivelant towards it right up until I first actually went there, but it really is an amazingly crafted zone. Graphically it's fucking superb, the scale and the atmosphere is completely unprecedented, the boss fights are mostly all fun in my experience and definately a lot more engaging than Naxx, and it feels like just the right amount of trash. I only returned to the game because a friend asked me to join his guild, but after running the place for the second time tonight I'm actually anticipating our next raid night, instead of dreading it like I used to back in february.

yeah, shit is what I call it. EQ Class system probably is still more interesting than WoW when it comes to grouping. Don't fool yourself into believing that WoW is inherently superior, the massive numbers simply come from the easy gameplay and the high solo strength of all classes.
