Pedo-Sam grinds, and hes the slowest leveling player in the history of WOW. Get an add-on like questhelper, carbonite or the like and you'll level fast.

I just read posts of people saying "grinding is the faster method of leveling in WoW" periodically.

It depends on your familiarity with quests and the quality of your equipment. I still prefer questing as it doesn't evaporate rested experience as quickly as grinding, and it isn't half as boring.

If you are RAFing and you have a level 80 to help, instance grinding is the fastest.

in order of how fast a method of leveling:
Recruit a friend instance boosting
Recruit a friend questing
normal instance boosting
questing
grinding

And grinding is so much slower its not even close. Whoever told you grinding was fastest is an idiot or a troll. Quest unless you have a high level buddy to drag you through instances (instance boosting).

Questing in WoW is grinding, only you grind on 30 of X, then 30 of Y, then 30 of Z, and you get an extra 10-20k exp for each 30 you kill.

Grinding is generally acknowledged as staying in an area for hours {days, weeks, huzzah Old Sebilis} repetitively killing things over and over and over...

Questing is not grinding, period. If you think killing 30 mobs is grinding, you are on the wrong message board, chief!

So I started doing some 25man stuff finally (did all of heroic naxx, was pretty fun) and am quickly realizing that nUI is far too cluttered/screen intensive to be viable for that kind of environment. Anyone recommend me some others that are a bit more minimalist and not as much of a real estate hog? I play DPS and tank occasionally, so no need for grid healing or anything like that.

Past just general hotbar mods and such, are there any "must have" type addons for raids? Last time I was doing any raids at all it was just decursive, but people talk a lot these days about mods that inform you about void zones and other such things going on; any of these actually worth it?

dbm [deadly boss mods, REQUIRED raiding mod, bigwigs is alternative]
omen - if dps/tank,
grid (healer),
recount (optional, damage/healing meters)

everything else is just fluff, but can make your screen pretty -- like pitbull4/macaroon for unit frames, squeenix for moving minimap, bartender4 for action bars, etc.

my favorite mod is texas holdem poker, great for whiling away the hours with friends. people also love bejeweled/peggle, never tried em

I havent ready any posts after this but, you may be mistaken with people INSTANCE grinding with level 70-80 characters. then yes its very fast.

However, soloing quests is your best bet.
