I always felt that if a game could mix the two (questing vs. grinding) in a real legitimate way it would be great. I mean sure you can grind instances in WoW, but what I'm talking about is having your group camp somewhere and just grind exp for hours. Maybe it would be hard to balance and grinding would end up faster. I just think that having the option to do both would make levelling to max level less repetitive and you would feel less pigeon-holed into what you had to do.

You actually could do that the morning of WoTLK release. In fact, still can sorta if you know where to go. But I already posted about it in the GMG thread.

Have a feeling this will just become an EQ nostalgia thread so I'm gonna bow out now.

Here's a random wow one then to steer away from replicating the GMG thread. What is the music from this video of Conquest's MC through to Naxx kills from 2006? Google lets me down, just shows the video from various sources and seems to be too old for Conquest's own site to care about it either.

When they released the strats to MC after Blizz suspended a bunch of them, it sure changed the landscape from what had come before!

Edit : To try and add something at least slightly worthwhile...

Well, the problem with these threads is that WoW and EQ is probably the by far most common combination of MMORPGs played by individual persons on this board. So of course it's gonna always be EQ Nostalgia vs WoW today. Except that currently a lot of us are playing EQ old today.

There's 2 EQ threads for the version you may be playing, plus a current day EQ thread. There's the WoW thread. And if you just want to talk general game theory then the GMG thread has been the bastion for that for over a year now or you can pop over to the uberworlds development forum.

Then again, I was getting used to not having a new thread started every month by random people going, "LIST YOUR 5 FAVORITE MMO FEATURES lol!" It was kinda nice. But I'm just getting old and can't keep up with you kids these days. 8(

The 10.0 weight on the efreeti standard is bullshit. The 10 delay on it put it on par with the moss covered twig, but then Verant had to get stupid on us and restrict it to the secondary weapon slot only. Not only that, but every swing at 10.0 weight is a quick way to drain your stamina. Unnerf this shit pronto - this isn't some trash weapon pulled from the forests of Kunark - it must be earned in the Plane of Sky.

God damn Verant.

. Though I've heard enough of OMG I CAMPED A VT KEY YOU BITCHES GOT SHIT... there must be a place for it I suppose. Still, imo more on "phasing" out Azeroth to pve/pvp and reviving PvP with tiered sets etc etc...

I really wish they would create different rule sets for new servers. I'd love a 'hardcore" ladder type server similar to Diablo 2. Something like FV server from EQ would be fun as well.

I forget, but didn't we eventually find out that stamina made no difference at all except you couldn't jump? I remember how annoying it was when melee kept asking for "zing please!".

And also, do I want to focus on stam>int for now? Last time I levelled a lock was at launch.
