| Heh, went from my high/full RP server(Argent Dawn) and made a noob to compare it to other servers. It's amazing how much more vibrant Orgrimmar and the trade/lfg channels in general are on that server compared to AD even though they supposedly have similar populations. Maybe all the RPers are alliance or something, because going back to AD made it feel utterly dead compared to Arthas. There was constant spam in the LFG and trade channels(both are EST servers), like 30 people outside dueling and bullshitting(closest thing in wow to a community setting like EC in EQ1 I've seen), and people constantly forming arena teams or wintersong groups(something I haven't seen once on Argent Dawn). Think I may have to buck up and pay for a transfer. I know it says up to 5 days on the website, but anyone know how long it usually takes to switch realms?

Within a few hours of hitting 80 I got into a Malygos normal run with just 10 people and it was killed in 1 go, the guild I used to be in on Horde side never managed it 10 man and only once on 25 man... Amusingly some fuckwit linked the lowest 3 blues I was wearing to raidchat saying how I was going to kill them all with my obvious uselessness and he was the only death, dying on phase 2 to not getting his arse into a bubble ![]()

+13 Internets | So I'm coming up on 80 (my first char higher than 60 even) and am going to be needing to do some serious gear farming. Any suggestions which reputations to grind on first for plate (DK) gear? I've got my engineering goggles so far for epics, so a loooong way to go yet. Working on argent tournament dailies now that I'm finally 78, and the rep grind there doesn't look too bad and it looks to have a semi-useful purple 2h.

But really the trick to fast gearing is getting in a decent pug that'll clear a couple of wings at least. Even better if you can get in a good pug, or if you have a guild. Heroics you shouldn't have to run for more than a week, to get revered for your helm enchant, some basic blue drops and maybe a couple of epics. Run Nexus if you go DPS, good belt and good trinket on last boss and it's an easy instance with 4 bosses.

I suggest you head to Wowhead, and use the search function with scoring as a rough guide. Things like Plate Armor - Items - World of Warcraft (in theory, if you had enough cash, you could be in almost full epics at the instant you hit 80, but that requires a real stash, which, on your first char, you won't have) Last edited by Ukerric; 07-06-2009 at 02:25 AM..

| Stay in HFP for as long as you can, then move to Terokkar. With the xp changes, you should be able to finish up there (including the quests around Auchindoun) and do somewhere around a third to a half of Nagrand then hit Northrend. |

I do see more PUGs looking for "1M DPS" "More Ranged DPS" more than I see them looking for tanks/heals though. I used to ALWAYS do healing or tanking, and yeah, F all that. Time to be low stress, pump some numbers, and avoid void zones.

| Is there some sort of memory leak in Ulduar? I think this instance has permanently damaged my video card. I was fine playing wow until I started this raid instance and usually by the third boss, my video card self-combusts and my computer no longer turns on/works. Just this morning, my computer was shutting off due to the video card and I wasn't even playing the game, just browsing the net. |

| its overheating, or your PSU isn't powerful enough to keep the vid card running 100% for long periods of time, or you have dust inside you could try turning down all the video settings, especially turn shadow quality to low - leave projected textures on however. everything else can be set to low. |

| Well, there was Faxmonkey who was on the Horde so I'm not sure why he would be AEing down the Horde. Not sure who you're talking about.

| Well I'm pretty sure that Gnome Mage is quite possibly the worst race/class combination in the history of the game (obligatory Qhue sucks), so you might very well have been the only one watching it.
