So I was doing an Argent daily earlier and started to lag out. Instead of waiting to disconnect, I just Alt-F4ed like I normally do. I try to log back in and WoW crashed, giving some error about not being able to load Northrend_46_something.adt. Oddly I could still log in my lock in Zul'drak. I loaded up Repair, and it told me WoW was royally fucked, and rolled me back to 3.0.1. Of course by the time I downloaded and re-patched, servers are down.

I type all this to ask if my problem should actually be solved, or if there are more steps I can take to fix it now. I don't even know what the fuck happened to break the file to begin with, I alt-f4 all the time.

That used to happen to me sometimes on my old computer. No idea what causes it, but I found if I just logged onto my account from another computer, or had someone else do it, then moved it to somehwere else in the world, it'd go away, even if I went back to where it originally occured.

Yeah, it's usually means that you alt-f4'd out in the middle of some sort of disk operation, fucked your cache, and ploughed a nice groove through the middle of your WoW install. Best way to avoid it is not to alt-F4 like some sort of ADHD poster child at the first sign of lag. Also defrag your disk, run checkdisk, etc etc

It means Blizzard is to cheap to spring for better hardware to allow for more instances to be used at once.

They have a hard limit on how many new instances can be created at a certain time. Usually running in/out for 5minutes will get you in, unless it's a raid. Raids don't seem to refresh as often.

It is WAY too easy to reach the 5 instances/hr cap while taking toons through 10-20. Did manage 13-18, almost 19 in those 5 instances though.

I don't actually know how fun DKs are but it seems like75% of my guild has decided to play one up to 80 so they can't be all that dull.

its very server/time dependent I think too, I have never once seen the error on blackrock and I run a lot of instances and raids.

leveling 70-80 is a lot more fun than I thought it would be the 3d time around, especially the last 2 weeks. +10% heirloom xp, +5% wintergrasp control xp, and the midsummer fires give 10% kill bonus xp. adds up quite fast. also if you play slow and do < 2 hours a day, you pretty much keep full rested xp the entire time - I go from 150% rested to 135% xp or so over 2 hours, and by the time I log back in the next day its at or close to 150% again.

I forgot how fun some of the quests are, I just did the murloc ones in borean tundra and it was pimp having a baby murloc army follow me around, followed by wearing the murloc costume.

nice thing is i'm dual boxing and its not much extra work, especially with the new interact option (you can loot quest items from your main window without ever having to tab/switch), the only reason I ever switch to the other window is to grab a herb node. gathering quests kinda suck, but with 2 its managable, 3 or more and it gets unfun.

Holy Gay--RAF trial locked at 20; I was hoping I could ride out the 10 days, have a 60 on there, and then only pay if it REQUIRED me to upgrade the account to transfer it off.
