They really screwed the pooch on that one yeah. Having done it on a handful of characters now I've got it timed so I can kick it off and go grocery shopping, then get back just in time to get the reward. Reminds me of raiding NToV back in EQ when we'd go out for KFC or something during trash clears and get back just in time to ask for loot.

The cinematic before it is pretty tits and as I posted in the other thread that I still get chills from Putress' speech. I would gladly reroll if his Forsaken became a new faction you could join, fuck the Horde.

But the battle is kinda meh. You trigger it, then sit there for five minutes with your thumb up your ass. Once the novelty of hitting for 10k wears off after a few seconds the whole thing just drags on. You should pretty literally plow through the place.

They could have done so much more with it. I appreciate that they wanted it to be a no fail event but does it really have to take 30 minutes? Even doing it the first time I kinda got the point of saying, "Alright, alright, I get it. Thrall is a badass. Can we do more then clear trash endlessly? I had enough of this repping m'uru."

Hah, fair enough. I think it is great to do the first time. Thinking back though I could see how it could be shorter I suppose.

Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. I did it four times and by the fourth time I wanted to kill myself.

The quest is sort of a microcosm of WoW as a whole though. Heaven forbid should completing the quest actually require any sort of effort on the part of the player. I wouldn't mind (much) if it lasted five minutes, but well over half an hour of an event that has absolutely Z-E-R-O challenge and would finish without any action by the player(s) is retarded.

Fixed First time round I went through it all but when I did a second character I just moved every few minutes a bit further forward whilst I was watching some tv I had downloaded. I didnt hit one mob and got full credit at the end. I wouldn't want it changing though, first time round it is a mostly epic event compared to what you've ever done before in WoW. If you can't spare a few minutes on a 2nd character especially when you know its coming then I don't know what to say to you, why not schedule it for when you wanted to browse the latest soft porn in the FSR thread etc?

I'm bitching about both of those. Thrall calling up the spirits to do stuff was great but the entire thing could have easily been condensed into 10-15 min.

I actually went to pee during the event while they were fighting around the green river and came back to a death. I guess ADHD Thrall ran to the other side and the mobs all ganged up on me. Thank god for reincarnation or I'd have to have done it again.

So anyone with autobot/advbot/genbot/other MQ macro working on EQEMU want to give me a PM with some help? I have my old Genbot files but they are not compatible with the newer version of MQ2, however the version of MQ2 you have to use on eqemu is not the newest so the latest macros from the forums are also semi broken it seems. I'm just looking for basics - auto melee, heal, debuff, etc for assisting with me controlling. Level 60 cap.

The undercity battle quest is fucking insanely awesome the first time you do it - ogrimmar under martial law? Undercity invaded? Thrall and Sylvanas riding to curbstomp some motherfuckers? FUCK YEAH!!

And boring as cat balls the second time. I'm sure there will be an option to "skip to the end" at some point, but MMOs need more stuff like this (with the option to bypass on alts) to make the game more "you are the hero" rather than a faceless fuck who runs around collecting kodo poop and bear asses. Bioware's Star Wars game will probably see a lot more of this kind of stuff.

As for hunters, they're pretty nice, and pet management matters more for hunters than it does for locks, mostly because felguard is basically just turning cleave autocast on and pressing pet follow/pet attack to avoid AEs when they can actually hit pets, while hunters have Call of the Wild and that other buff and if you're crazy you can also time the wolf howls yourself instead of autocasting it for better efficiency.

As for soloing old content, 2T5 would be hard as shit to get unless you do the crappy PUG raids, T5 is SSC/TK which fucking blows. Once you have it you can solo quite a lot for sure, and you can always rely on the old path error kiting shit and all.

Not sure which is better, but Blood DKs and Protadins are better than both. Soloing old content gets old really fast(stupid pun intended), shit takes forever and there's rarely anything worth it.

Yeah, not really interested in DKs or Paladins though. Fuck melee classes; honestly played a melee class my entire time through day 1 vanilla EQ to now; I'm enjoying ranged for a change.

If I can kick nuts in MC/ZG thats all I care about, just the ability to screw around.

Yes. You have a proc which is a massive DD+a sick ass heal over time on you. This is at a 200 rate (double the rate most things proc at, meaning 4ppm base as opposed to 2 base). Your yaulp line has a +procrate mod on it now. The downside to that is that it lowers your outgoing healing. However, it doesn't affect the promised line (unless promised is cast on yourself, I THINK). If you are feeling kinda crazy solo, theres also the ward line. 400 procrate mod of a fairly large DD on things hitting you. Pull 4-5 blues, swing away, get hot procs. cast promised on yourself, enjoy the exp flowing in pretty well.
