Nope - and that is a big problem with COH. Other than farming influence for the rare IO sets, there isn't much to do.

They added a new task force for level 50s. I don't remember the name and the forums are down.

Other high level content is the Statesman Taskforce and Rikti War Zone raids. The Imperious Task Force is fun, you need to do the Midnighters story arc mission to get into Cimeora. Lady Grey in RWZ also has a high level task force. And Hamidon's still out there.

Weekend coming up, staring Oct 9th I guess it's a free weekend for inactive accounts, to celebrate I16 .

For people like myself who only need to play this game an hour once a year just to see all the crap that changed that really changed nothing, these weekends are nice, so just a heads up. It's a double XP weekend to.

There was a lot of info given about Going Rogue at Hero-Con 2009.

Link to CoH forum thread with expansion information.

It sounds like a pretty light expansion. I was hoping for more than just two new powersets, especially after getting so many with CoV.

However, I am glad that they're making Hero<->Villain a sliding scale and not a single choice. It also looks like you'll be able to permanently stay in the gray areas if you wish, which means you can do a vigilante, Punisher-like hero without being forced to eventually make a choice between pure hero or villain.

I'm eager to see Praetoria. Those were always some of my favorite mission arcs, as I'm a huge fan of "what if" scenarios.

I'm also excited to see Ultra Graphics Mode in action. Personally I think the game still looks pretty damn good with high settings, with a great combination of style/realism/performance. Hopefully Ultra Graphics Mode will be tweakable, and not just an on/off switch. I know my pc can't handle all of it, but it might be nice to turn on some of the Ultra features.

So, I was thinking about starting CoH again, for the fun factor and customization -- I always loved COH. But I hear the Architect shit destroyed the game.

Apparently almost everyone exclusively does AE missions to get to lvl 50 in 3 days or so, and no one does the original stuff, like story arcs and regular missions in zones.

Is this true? If so, damn, cuz I really want to play some Hero playing, and Champions sounds rather shitty, and dying...Im looking for a game with *some* staying power.

I resubbed last week and have only been playing very casually, but this does seem like the case. Granted my server (Liberty) is pretty low-pop, but I don't run into many people as I run from mission to mission. I have a feeling they're all crowded into the AE building.

Nonetheless I'm having fun doing the old story arcs and leveling up again. I'm especially enjoying doing it villain side, as I never got to max level there so much of it is still new to me.

I want to say they revamped how difficulty works also, so even if you get an AV mission I think you can adjust the difficulty now so the AV will be scaled down to be soloable if you can't find anyone to help. Don't quote me on that though.

You are right. You can scale the difficulty down so that you end up fighting an Elite Boss or Boss.

I can't believe that the devs added in an acrobatics type travel power (ninja leap or ninja rush or something like that), but are charging $10 for it. This travel power is free in CO and will be free in DCUO. Since there are 8 more travel powers in CO, does NCSoft expect to rip off those travel powers and charge the playerbase $80 total. Hell of an idea.

Judging by the absurd number of people who have already bought it, I'd say yes, that is exactly what's going to happen in the future.

They're brilliant about how they sell it, too. By packaging several small things into these stupid "booster" packs people feel like they're buying a mini expansion rather than individual items/powers.
