| In reagrds to the Curse/WoWMatrix thing - most of the issue seems to be that WoWM was easy to use and they took that away and the Curse client isn't, as you need 2 (1 for Curse, 1 for WoWinterface). If Curse/WoWinterface really wants to make everyone happy, why don't they just make a Addon Manager like WoWMatrix was? That solves thier problems and the whole community likes 1 click stuff. The Curse guys keeps saying 3.0 is awesome, but it's still NOT AS GOOD AS WOW MATRIX. And therein lies the problem. |

+16 Internets | You're missing the point. WowMatrix has that one click feature because it feeds off of two competing companies. It's like complaining that you can't get Coke and Pepsi in the same 12 pack, so you buy 12 individual cans from a street vendor who stole a few cases off a truck. I've used Curse for ages and never had a single problem with it. The rare addon that isn't on Curse but can be found on WoWInterface I just install manually, it's really not an issue. |

| for the curse guy, here are some tips that would make the site nicer 1. when you search for a mod, please put next page> buttons on the bottom of the search list as well as on the top. I scroll through a list of mods, then have to scroll back up to go to the next page 2. when you search for something, and there is only one result, please go directly to that result. I almost always know the name of the mod I want, and its so dumb that I have to click through a search result list of 1 to get to it. You guys have had some really shitty coders/UI designers/web layout/pretty much everything in the past, like you can totally tell the site was done by a bunch of unix coders who are clueless about how a good site works. Get some usability people in. And get some smarter people in your marketing department, it was so retarded the way you pushed the curse 1.0 client -- "hay guyz, if you pay us $$ per month you can get the features of wowaceupdater! ok we still have a free version but its really buggy and you can only update one mod at a time". That kind of mentality went on for a long time in your company. Think clearly more through your audience -- wowmatrix has a captive audience of ~1 million (or more) people a day who run it for 5 minutes. Thats it. No one wants to browse the internet through their addon updater, no one wants to make it a "portal", no one really WANTS to run it, they just HAVE to. But for 5 minutes, you have their attention. Do smart things in those 5 minutes, like recommend game config backup services, or articles people might find interesting (I WOULD LOVE TO READ RIGHT NOW SOMETHING ABOUT HOW TO GLYPH PROPERLY IN 3.1 FOR EACH CLASS) or ads for single player games/Pizza/candy/game hacks/gold/etc, you know, stuff pale socially awkward MMO players who update their addons regularly are into. |

| I used to detest Curse, and still don't care much for them. Learn to create a user friendly search function please. But the new 3.0.0.3 updater is admittedly very smooth. I tend to find mods I need elsewhere, like on WoWinterface then just select them from the Curseclient to install. Saves me having to visit Curse itself and I get automatic updates.

No one is claiming Wowmatrix was innovative.. They stole someone else's idea and made it better... Much like blizzard does with their games. Wowmatrix = google Cursed = yahoo | |

| Curse and WoWInterface are making money off other peoples work and afaik aren't compensating those people. The people that contribute the mods aren't seeing any of that money. So The whole "they are violating the authors copyright" argument seems silly. Especially now that mods can't be sold for money under Blizzard's terms. So the authors aren't being hurt at all here. No one wants to have to use multiple updaters. No matter how awesome the Curse client GUI is, there is still that problem of addons not supported by the client. If bandwith is the problem, then maybe a torrent like solution is the right approach for those hosting the mods. |
