| the content release cycle is awful and has always been awful. WOTLK has just been way worse, with only a handful of raids available for 152 days. id say "lets hope it doesnt happen again", but it always happens again. |

| This is what I was hinting at, it just kind of seems like going out and buying Grand Theft Auto, and it has a disclaimer saying "Currently contains the entire first 4 levels, future levels to come"

+39 Internets | WoW and EQ use two different systems really, EQ release one expansion per big raid tier/cycle so they name the expansion after the raid they release, however blizzard release a few major content patches per expansion, all of which have their own names. The Wrath of the Lich King is only the setting in which this expansion takes place, which is to say you're going to Northrend to fight the Lich King(all the leveling quests/storyline refers to that pretty much) but it doesn't mean you get to fight the Lich King and defeat him right away. First you beat Kelthuzad's ass, and fix some issues with various stuff going on with Northrend of lesser importance/difficulty, such as kicking Malygos in the face for trying to divert all the magic, or beating some Old God that's awakening and could be just as threathening as the Lich King. Consider wow expansion names as Volumes of a multi chaptered book, and each chapter within the book is a major content patch. Books rarely start with "And so, the hero killed the evil guy, and they lived happily ever after". The previous expansion was The Burning Crusade, and you ended up killing various minor threats first(magtheridon, gruul and karazhan) then moved up to killing Kaelthas and Vashj, Illidan's lieutenants, then killing Illidan and reliving the fight with Archimonde, and then finally actually beating the big guy behind it all, Kiljaeden. As for when we'll be kicking some Arthas ass, it depends on how major is 3.2. If it's not too big, there's chances of seeing Arthas before the end of the year, maybe. |

| I wonder if the servers will come up on time today, and if they will be constantly crashing tonite or not. Did anyone play with the Argent Coliseum on PTR? I tried it for 5 minutes and thought it was retarded as shit (SHALL WE JOUST FOR GLORY??) but the ADD in me wants to farm tokens I wonder if its going to be a ffa PVP slaughterfest like Isle was in TBC or is it a dalaran-like protected zone? |

+19 Internets | Anyone know from the PTR if the new glyph recipes are trainable? Or do scribes have to go through a discovery process to get them. I don't know too much about inscription and didn't see the info anywhere. |

+4 Internets | On a Patch 3.1 related note, you get to update your add-ons old school today. Got to admire that they picked a patch day to do this. WoWInterface and Curse working together to help protect authors and other site-users. Quote:

+3 Internets | Some conflicting stuff there.... saying they redistribute the files, rehosting them... and at the same time saying it takes up all sorts of bandwidth on the original host sites. Seems to be a lot of trouble to go and edit out site names and stuff... hard to believe. Either way, it comes across as a tool created for personal use (light on features, heavy on gets shit done) to that of filling a need since neither of these blocking sites really has an effective alternative (.....or we'd have been using it....). I expected nothing but the worst picture to be painted by them. Even by their own account, the application was changing to be more mod-creator friendly. Just fired it up, all the big mods list as 'offline' or 'more info' and say the host site is either not online, or that they are working to support that particular addon. |

| Why don't you just use the Curse Client?

+79 Internets | * Herbalism o Find Herbs no longer tracks Glowcaps. o Northrend herbs now yield more herbs on average. o The herbalism requirement for gathering Tiger Lily has been reduced to 375. o The time it takes to gather herbs has been reduced. WOOT! |

The Curse updater will still work. It's only the WoWMatrix updater that's being shut down. | |

+3 Internets | Last I used the Curse client, it would only install final released versions, not beta versions, and was in some 'free till we say it isnt' mode. Also not everything is on Curse... so now you have to run 2 clients, and how well they work I have no idea at the moment. If it's as good as wowmatrix and free, then great. Still lame we have to run 2 clients. |

+39 Internets | On PTR you could buy the glyphs from the glyph vendor, and Inscription research was bugged for quite a while, but I assume they'll have to be researched. Which means scribes are gonna be rich by the end of the week, because some of the new glyph are mandatory(lifetap for locks for example). Wish I had bothered leveling my druid to 77 now to level inscription like I wanted to. |

| For glyphs: Added around 50 new glyph recipes. These new recipes can be obtained from Books of Glyph Mastery found as world drops on Northrend monsters. Reading a Book of Glyph Mastery randomly discovers one of the newly-added recipes. The WoWMatrix thing is lame. I liked that program far, far more than the Curse updater. I also recall, not too long ago, some people saying that the Curse updater was involved somehow with keyloggers? Either way, it's lame. Ps. where the fuck do I download the Curse and WoW Interface updater clients? Last edited by Brikker; 04-14-2009 at 09:42 AM.. |
