| Thinking about giving this server a shot but I'm skeptical of the low end game... How hard is it to level? I don't mind working for it, but without mercs and no one to group with it would be a bitch to level with the population the way it is. |

| Holy cow! I saw this post and thought I had warped back in time 5 years or something. I played EQMac when it was brand new on my Powerbook 12" and on my Dual 1.25GHz G4 Powermac. Leveled a Beastmaster up to 67 or so and had most of my epic finished before I stopped playing and went on to other things. The lack of support from GM's was frustrating (I once broke the server for an entire week by causing that war on Luclin between the 3 tribes in Hollowshade Moor. Once the war broke out and they killed each other off nothing respawned until the GM's manually reset the zone.) but the community was awesome. I have some good memories from my time there and arguably enjoyed EQMac more than my original EQLive experience. I was able to go on raids and get loot in EQMac that I would have never been involved with on EQLive just because of the sheer number of people competing for them (like Lodizal, for instance). Cool thread!

| so just long term planning on being able to raid, due to the casualness of the raid scene, would class matter much at all? I played Bard Rogue Wizard Cleric Necro and as much as I liked being needed to stare at a wall as a cleric, I like the ability to solo if I cant find a group... Anyone that plays able to give me a semi rundown on class desireability in raids and groups along with soloability on eqmac?

| If you are impatient or don't want to do the "oldschool leveling" experience, you can always get buffs. KEI, Virtue, Blessing of the Nine/Blessing of Replenishment, etc etc.

Why April 10th? Logistics of getting four people low-end macs that can run it well + UPS ground + the desire to start on a weekend so we can get some decent leveling done. We'd all prefer the 3rd, but I don't see it happening.

| This is too tempting to pass up. I'll be buying a Mac tonight. God, even just grinding AAs would be a blast on this server... Imagine being there for the first Quarm kill? Ugh. Fuck you guys.

Same deal with the Rathe Council - is the PITA version that led to Furor's rant (or was that PoT not Rathe -- can't remember) or the fixed version.... I don't think even SOE knows ;-) .

| If it really is Quarm 1.0 that would provid for an amazing opportunity for a gaming "experiment" (or social study, I suppose). But if Quarm 1.0 could be downed on the Mac server with a bunch of players from this board and other top players on Al'Kabor that would be amazing and could possibly tell us that years of MMO playing really create better players that could overcome older, "broken" game mechanics. (this post may or may not make sense, run-on sentences are cool)
