I think this is directed at me. I'm really just stealing info from the eqmac.com forums. Various people say repeatedly that you need at least 1.0GB (2.0GB much to be preferred) and 64MB of Vram (128MB preferred) to run it decently. There is a comment in one of the many 'can this run eqmac' posts where 1 guy with an older emac (only 32MB of VRAM -- and I think 1.0GB) said that he could do group content but could not raid with that configuration.

Really your best bet is to ask there.

Lots of friendly people on this server. Lots of items passed down (bazaar market is different than normal servers).

1 guild in elementals. 2 other guilds in VT.

From what I read a while ago, the Mac server is the only server that still hasn't woken The Sleeper. Thats almost tempting enough to roll a character and take part in.

Not really worth it for the sole reason of waking The Sleeper considering the script is most likely bugged.

Although if you are looking to play for fun I encourage it.

Well I busted out an old 60gig IDE drive and got a hacked OSX image up and running, patching my EQ files now!

That's not the only difference...

Old Freeport. Old Ro. Old PoM. Old Hate. Old Spells. Its EQ circa October 2002. There was one small bug fix post 2003 and that's it.

Reading some of the posts on EQMac.com is like a venture into a dark and unfriendly territory. There's a whole section discussing EQMac only bugs with particular AAs and which AA's to avoid and which AA's bug favorably to the various classes.

The only thing that seems to be missing are the items that were removed prior to 2002 (e.g. manastones).

Anyway, the point being that not only is it a dumb idea to wake the sleeper but (as vallhalla notes) it's doubtful it would even work.

I'll be joining you guys on the server in about two weeks - once my buddy gets his imac and I win one of my bids.

Swarm Kiting has never been touched. Swarm kiting is Getting a train, charming a mob, sending it into the swarm, and it getting pwnt, then finishing it off after breaking charm at low health.

According to most accounts, you have to call SOE customer support and have them manually add your subscription.

Just going to say that it's unofficially been confirmed that the sleeper script is bugged and won't work unless the developers are there to manually execute it and the chances of them doing that is pretty much extremely low considering this is the main reason why people have so much vested interest into the server in the first place - it makes it stand out and the only reason the server still exists is because they are still getting subscription fees from it.

I don't know anyone that has actually tried to do it, so I can't tell you 100% that it's true, but it was good information and I imagine some group of douchebags played the server solely intending to ruin it for the entire server.

I decided to go druid and I'm at like level 27 right now. not much help but once I hit 50 or so I'll volunteer to powerlevel any of you that decide to check it out. Just look for Behemoth online.
