| Really? You thought Blizzard was really going to make a class that could own all the lesser classes in the game with its godlike powers and leave it like that? Really?

| Do people still not realize the only reason DKs were called a "hero" class was to stop the downs kids from complaining about blizzard not creating hero classes???? DKs are nothing close to the original plan with hero classes. Honestly, they could just have easily made the DK start at lvl 1 and made the quests in the DK starting instantly lvl them up to 55. There's nothing heroic about them... it was just a "clever" way for blizzard to stop all the hero class ranting. |

+38 Internets | I wouldn't mind DK's so much if they'd stop stealing my alt warrior's gear. For everyone that gets geared and stops doing alt runs, THREE MORE STEP IN TO TAKE HIS PLACE. And they're changing the two peice moonkin T8 set bonus to 15% so that druids will actually want to upgrade. All that spirit on the gear makes me cringe, but 45% wrath damage during a mistaken eclipse won't be suicide inducing anymore. And with the nerf to scortch/winter's chill, the extra crit on lunar eclipse will be awesome. |

| the original design for hero classes was much better. think epic quest that turned regular classes into hero classes. dwarf warr>king of the mountain, et al. would've been a fun quest to do (and probably create). |

+39 Internets | But it would have been extremely limited and not that fun when 4years down the road you figure you should have made your war elf or dwarf because you wanted to be demon hunter or mountainer. The original plan would have to have like paladins do a long questline corrupting themselves to become death knights, or something like that. In the end it's new chars, which somewhat fits the lore better. |

| Or maybe they are right on giving up on them. The concept was never that interesting in my opinion. And in any case, it doesn't make any sense in WoW's current state. All the good ideas about Hero Classes have already been implemented in another way (talents.) Your next hero class is going to be called "10 more levels and talent points." Maybe they can rename your Hunter "Pathfinder" when you reach 90, though. I'm pretty sure the game is very, very different from what the guys writing the first draft of the design plans envisioned at the time. |

| What was their original plan about hero classes then? I'm sure that Blizzard hasn't said any details about it, only speculations and assumptions from people were floating around. The only "official" thing that could come close to hero classes was the two headed ogre but that was also Blizzards first WoW's april fools joke |

+6 Internets | They should just make it so your class name changes based on your talents. Whichever tree you have invested the most points into renames your class. Like Arms Warrior becomes Swordmaster. Prot becomes Mountain King. Survival hunter = demon hunter. Something like that. |

| I wish they would add some type of AA system, if you've ever played EQoA they could use a system similar to that. You could "change" your class depending on which specialization you wanted to go into. (it was called class mastery) In EQoA at level 55 you could spend 500CMPs (class mastery points) on changing your necro into a defiler or a lich. Depending on if you liked dots or pets. You had to have a specific base stats to unlock that MC (master class) so it was pretty difficult to do at 55, most players waited until 60. You also had to already have 500 points spent, so a total of 1000CMPs would be spent after you picked your MC. Survival hunters could spend specific AA points in making their character into a Demon Hunter, that would give them +stats to which ever stat is best for them, also would open up other +stat modifiers they could spend AA on. In the end, wow needs some type of advancement system for those at max level, i honestly don't understand how bliz could want their max level players logging in a couple times a week just for raids. ~edited for clarification Last edited by Toxxulian; 03-20-2009 at 12:18 PM.. |

There is no good business reason for Blizzard to push out content that keeps people on their servers 24/7. | |
