Well they are fun to do. Did another 3 today. Got the 27AC aug with lots of hp/mana and avoidance on it from guk...reckon that was pretty lucky. Then I got the mithril 2hander, which I sold for 5 brews, and another staff of writhing, another 5 brews. Just need to complete the raids and I'll be in business! Can get myself 18 brews a night since I box.

Damn would it be cool if they did this with like Paw, Fear, Hate, Karnor's, Sebilis, etc. Although I'd prefer for everything to be level 50 as to not have to change hotkeys.

It's doable with 2, me and a friend did all of the group missions with a chanter/cleric combo.

Nice, I've thought of trying enchanter. What do you do, charm a pet and move really slowly? I'm finding mage/necro to be the top two, with a cleric added for support...some of that crap in SolB can cast dots that will kill you if not cured or dispelled.

Haha joined some guild doing Naggy. They'd cleared the giants and were failing on Naggy (with only 6, dumbasses). We had 11 and we got him to 92%, 76%, 42% and 36%. It was like good ol' EQ all over again. Invising past all the trash to get back to him and setup, getting closer and closer each time.

We eventually all gave up, was disheartening, but expected with only 11 people (with me boxing 2 of those, and another person boxing 3). Anyone that does it with 12 are a bunch of skilled mother fuckers in my book, but at least we got close...

Bad class distribution or shit healers. With the right mix, 12 is easy. You didnt have enough DPS.

DPS definitely felt like the problem, I wasn't leading so I didn't choose the classes. Of the classes I can remember there were 3 wizards, 2 clerics, 1 enchanter, 2 druids, 1 warrior, 1 sk, can't remember the last...No idea why the wizards failed. I was always the last alive each time (clr and enc)...I don't think the other clerics had their divine auras hotkeyed...

The missions can easily be done with 12. Naggy setup should be like:

2 Warriors
3 Clerics
3 Wizards
1 Enchanter
2 Druid
1 Monk

Vox:

2 Warrior
3 Cleric
3 Wizard
3 Magician
1 Monk

$.

I went sole monk for both raids and split it all fairly easily and quickly. Then pulled the dragons to a hall, (the stairway for naggy and the ramp for vox) where we hid healers around the corner and tank got dragon to ~90%, then we unleashed dps and won np. Cool thing was with the position on the ramp for vox, (since we didnt use mages for naggy), the mage pets attacked the max melee hitbox from around the corner and thus dodged all AE's lol.

Started up with a friend on Mayong last week and having a blast so far. Heard that the Old Man event was going to be permanent in general chat. Is there any truth to that? Hoping so since we aren't rushing to 80.

So they're nerfing the 950 hp/mana raid gear from Naggy/Vox. There's a massive shitstorm all over the EQ forums. If you thought the crying from the elite hardcore gamers was bad, you haven't seen anything. Revenge of the casuals right now.

not to sound like an elitist asshole of something, but it had to be done.

it's obvious that the new SoE policy is "give more to everyone", SoD expansion showed it with its massive gear reset, but give highend raid gear for a trivial monster mission was a bit too much

to give you an idea, my guild is currently fighting tier3 raids and 950hp stuff is exactly what we getting off mobs who hit for over 15k. it is a bit unbalanced have to clear 80% of SoD expansion, not counting the Zek raids are the hardest of game, to have the same stuff you can get off few missions

they could have given stuff equivalent to SoF high end stuff and no one would have complained. it's major upgrade over the top group gear, but under what raiders get right now

They went over the top, but just with execution I think. They could've gone the WoW method earlier on (no idea how it is now) with PVP and made you essentially be limited to a piece after some serious farming (likea faction timesink ala WoW and early EQ). Yes those are the worst parts of games, but if you want shit that good but refuse to join a raiding guild then you need to deal with it

with the current EQ that's wrong Ham

EQ went under a major equip reset with SoD expansion, specially for group gear. With a normal group you can easely get 720hp stuff and most of it usually rots. Only the visible gear is hard to get, but tons of nameds drop them so you will never run out of camps

i suppose the old man missions were intended to be an upgrade for group gear, but the challengeVSreward is completely off balance

i have only 3 SoF/SoD raid gear pieces in my equipment while the rest is just SoD group stuff and i can hold my own against most raid bosses (even if of course i usually go *splat* much more easely than my better equip'ed fellow warriors )
