I'm almost 61 but my problem lately is grouping with people who aren't fucking retarded. People evacing at the thought of an add, or the warrior asking the necro to pull then letting him get beat on until he gets FD off before bothering (or using his taunt combat abilities). I don't get the people rushing to 85 and limiting their zones to AA, but I'm starting to understand the need to outlevel the retards. I can't wait until I can afford a merc.

Really though they should just make this 1.5 exp bonus permanent when you consider how many AAs you need for a lot of classes to be viable in a raid environment.

I tried that server and just went back to my old one and just started farming aa's/leveling on my necro. Too many stupid people atm to weed through for me.

I got up to 65 on my Enchanter, Speedy, this evening. Had a great group doing named in the Plane of Earth. We got a Mistwalker whip for a very happy Ranger and a few other meh drops. It was a lot of fun though. My friends list is getting pretty long with people that have been awesome to group with. I still haven't joined a guild yet, but anticipate that will happen soon. I want to find a guild that will be raiding GoD+, since I have done up through PoP a couple of times already.

Sure, the retards are plentiful... but you just need to be the group leader, you just boot them (after a good Furor-style verbal berating of course) and snag some new person off the LFG list. There is no shortage of people, that is for sure.

Reactivated my account and am playing here as well. Char name is Zimbo, 56 magician. Im in the Euro timezone.

I'm looking for some tips on leveling the mage, haven't played since PoP so i don't know the ins and outs of the game anymore. When is a good time to AA, and how the fuck do I solo with the magician? Blues kick my pet's ass, and thus my ass. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I haven't joined one either. hard to tell which is winning due to zerg and which will be good. Got to 65 as well in Fire/C2 last night. I swear weapon drops are the rarest thing in the world now.

Just hit 70. This is so fun. Only problem is that I have no money for spells, and people are charging 10k for Virtue. So, basically it's worth it for me to just grind to 72 and get Tenacity. Valdeholm is the 70+ hotzone and from what I've seen, it's onnly kite groups there because apparently no one has the armor to tank it yet. Therefore, it's probably time to start AAing at 72.

While the high population atm is exciting, it's also equally annoying. Can't play hardcore to get above the curve, so you're stuck with a bunch of retards in overcrowded zones. Then you're annoyed you aren't getting maximum exp to take advantage of bonus exp weekend, and annoyed you're not a necro or wizard to solo well. Either they need to increase duration of bonus (make it permanent you retards) or change hot zones/add more. I can't believe how unbelievably bad the current selection are.

Pop and the newer zones are pretty hard on mage pets. Mage pets didn't get significantly better till like 71.

On a small tangent; how many current subs do you all think EQ has?

Also are the charts on MMOCharts.com accurate at all? I'm hopeful that EQ is doing well enough for itself. I know they are still making expansions so it still has to be profitable.

I did a /who's to get a tally for each class at all levels on my old server and my estimate is under 1000 people on the server at that time. This doesn't honestly seem too bad as I recall when they actually displayed the number online next to the server name and 3500 was about the most that they had (that I can remember). Also the time I did my test could be a very low number for the server during its peak.

All the same, anyone else have any estimates or know a site that lists the number of active players per server? I started up on Storm and I am having a Blast. Stormm has over a 1000 active players by my estimation.

I think there's just too much content spread out across too many levels that it really thins out your numbers. Infact between the three fantasy MMO's I've played only FFXI still has people actively using their original content. That's to say if you started XI fresh or went back you would find parties in Valkrum Dunes and Qufim Island with out incident, but in EQ and WoW the old zones are dead.

I do think the 51/50 server was an interesting idea, though I wish one of two things had been different: A) Everyone had started out stark naked or B) The server had a level cap that was 51 with 50aa's...perpetual old school, vox and naggy for ever.

Been out of town for the 4th, so I missed nearly all of the bonus exp weekend. A friend of mine told me to start up on this server to play with him, so was going to do it tomorrow.. but a quick question.

With the population the way it is, are enchanters getting into groups again? I'd think, with the retards amass as people have said, an Enc for oh shit mezzes from bad pulls would be something that is desired. Yes? No?

For tanks, as one above said, no tank has the gear to be able to tank Vald yet, so my question, is it worth it to make a tank at this point? Of course, if that's what you like, sure.. but seems tanks are going hit hardest with the gear and lack of money compared to other classes. Of course that'll make them in high demand come higher levels when the tank class populations are low.

And finally, on the same topic. For those that have grouped, what kind of group make ups have you seen? Someone above posted they've been in all sorts of groups from Kite, to tank and spank, to full pet groups.

I'm coming in behind the curve, and I'd like to pick a class that's going to be easiest to catch up and not have to solo (necro/wiz).

If you are decent at making cash you wont have much trouble as a tank. They are already trying to charge 5-10k for basic run of the mill spells.

As for an enchanter we had a pretty damn good one pulling for our all caster group in Seb Disco last night. I love chanters, it seems people are much more picky about group composition than in the past. How ever with so many folks on the server right now, theres tons of groups out there. There was like 50 people in Seb last night at 1am.

most of my groups have been basic, tank, cleric, fill in the rest. as a rogue I feel I'm definitely the most sought after DPS right now thanks to the ridiculous SoD poisons. I think enchanters will do fine, people still run lom a lot in the fire groups I'm in and we're always hoping for some haste.

Was able to get 66 and up to 86 AA during exp weekend, hope the server stays at least 2/3rds of this population wise, unlikely I guess though =/
