| Server is really busy and a lot of fun. General chat has about 4 or 5 iterations with 200 people in it. Last night, Plane of Innovation had 70 people in it. Chardok/Sebilis/Nadox/etc etc etc all had 30+ people. It's nice running around PoK with 100+ people in it. It's probably at about PoP population levels. Most popular camps are camped. Overall it's been a lot of fun. Of course the mouth breathers are already up to 64 or 65, but me and a few friends have been rockin' it just exploring the game we used to love and are having a good time of it so far. Everyone is broke, and its sweet. |

| As of last night 10 of the 33 "Title" targets had been killed, most of them within the first couple hours of the server going up. At that time the highest target killed was Trakanon. I haven't been on at all today so not sure what else has been killed. As far as guilds there seems to be 3 or so that are kind of competing to be the dominant guild on the server. I think it's fair to say Tranquility is far and away in the lead as far as progress to absolute end game. Addiction Guild has some pretty high levels too, but not as high and not as many. Also I believe Addiction is stopping at 65 or so to do some raiding there and enjoy some of the previous expansions. The third guild is Dreams of Mayong or something. From what I can tell they just massively recruited when there was about 200 people in Crescent Reach when the server first opened and they haven't stopped. The Plane of Innovation, The Temple of Ssra, and the Crypt of Decay are the three major hot zones and all three have been pretty crowded. Yesterday the PoI got up to about 103 people at one point; that is until the Junk Beast had his way with them. You can find a few other spots to get pretty fast experience as everyone has such overpowered gear for PoP. Most everyone has their reward to /claim that includes 10 xp potions so a lot of people were potion popping all day yesterday and made it pretty high, mid 60s or so and I'm sure they've gotten higher today. I would be surprised if there aren't already a few 70s. This weekend they are doing a bonus experience weekend which really is just going to make what little amount of "progression" there was available on the server go out the window. Even moderate players that play over the weekend will easily be sitting at level 70 by Monday morning. In my opinion the server will stay pretty lively for the next few weeks. I would say about late August numbers will start dwindling down after everyone has had a chance to make 1 of every class they've ever wanted to try at that level. I would give the server until about the end of July until there is an established guild already raiding the highest of high end content and Mayong will just be known as the server that actually gets a little fresh blood every now and then. Pros
Cons
I know a lot of people have given SoE a really hard time for opening this server, and quite frankly they deserve it. I actually had a lot of fun playing yesterday and I'm going to be going back for more but it just doesn't seem like they have thought this one through. I don't play on any other live servers at the moment, but I'm guessing the population on all those servers (if you can even call it a population anymore) was probably cut in half. On top of that, there is absolutely no reason to make a new character on any of the other servers aside from wanting to progress through the really old content. In other words, in a single swipe SoE has lessened the population on already dead servers and more importantly they cut off the lifeblood of those servers. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we see the 51/50 thing go live to all servers within the next year or so. |

+3 Internets | If anyone is playing and needs a char boxed or whatever hit me up on PMs. I don't really want to invest too much time on the server but I'll dick around with some forum homies. |

+1 Internets | I paid $15 for a month and reactivated one of my old accounts. Every expansion, but the last one (SOD) has been enabled for some reason. Not complaining, but wtf? Here is the thing I never really appreciated about EQ, that now, a few years removed are readily apparent. There are so many different ways to play the game. I am not just talking about solo'ing or grouping either. Yesterday, I was in an all pet group in Nadox, an all cloth AE group in PoJ, a tank & spank group doing LDON's, I charm solo'd for a bit, and even a kite group in PoV. The only group I can say was slightly better than the rest was the AE group in Plane of Justice. For all of EQ's faults, the variety and balance of game play is pretty astonishing. If you have people to play with and they aren't a bunch of retarded vaginas, you can pull off some crazy shit in the game. I have always thought one of the biggest appeals to EQ was that the game play mechanics were flexible enough to allow you to feel OP'd. I'll put it this way... the best group ever in WoW is about 10x more effective than a meh group... Whereas, the best group ever in EQ is about 100x more effective than a meh group. In WoW, you min-max your character. In EQ, you min-max your group. As for this new server, it is really fun. BUT, it is fun in-spite of Sony and their half assed efforts. The gear situation is the biggest problem at this point. I am currently level 57 and do not anticipate replacing a single piece of gear until level 65+. There is no surge of excitement or adrenaline rush when you see a named. There is no need to jump on the internet to check out that quested focus effect item you need. Someone needs a simultaneous pat on the back and kick in the nuts for this 51/50 beautiful, abomination of a server. |

+58 Internets | I logged on the server today. The shaman I was on had a full spellbook and even earrings, rings, range, wpns, shield etc. With 1.5x exp weekend I guess people will be max level by the end of the weekend (I saw someone level 68). If it's able to keep a good population due to people not wanting to start over (because they're too dumb to realize how fast 1-50 on an existing server is) then I guess it's not all bad. I guess we'll see though. |

+58 Internets | Despite hating the server not being progression; I do have an active EQ subscription and went LFG for about an hour without much success. People like PoI and only PoI it seems. |

| It's /hidecorpse city in POI. The retard monk coeficient there is off the scale. Miraculously it appears all the wow retards don't know how the FD\stand thing works with aggro. They keep zoning back in and the same monk with 20 mobs on him keeps bringing them back to zonein. Fun and much lulz to be had. Then there's the junkbeast which is just a form of entertainment unto itself. |

| Just to be clear, is this monk simply a moron who won't get a clue and won't quit, or is he purposefully being a dick? I'm guessing Dick, but being shown the light on how fucking stupid people can be and still control a character via WoW, I have to ask.
