Holy mother of God I'm having a lot of fun. At first I was just dorking around looking at old zones/models I hadn't seen for over a year since I logged on EQMac. But then I started getting into it. Wow. The community on this server is fantastic.

Some funny/fun things:

I keep spamming backspace like a newb, I am worthless without map after being babied all these years!

Fucking spells are so expensive! I bought bags instead of songs...

Just turned in 20 crushbone belts, ftw!

Anyways, there's a surprising amount of low levels. Apparently a lot of people have been moving over to EQMac over the last 4 months according to the forums.

Did I mention the community is insanely good? Picture oldschool eq, all level 50 people mindset/intelligence/maturity. I can't wait to dominate again on my bard with no nerf ae swarm/charm fun! Also can't wait to redo velious and PoP. PoP was so much fun.

The only thing I'm ambivalent about is they did upgrade the server with level'd planes. So you can zone into BoT at 62, etc. Haven't decided if it's good or bad yet.

Fuck progression server, I found my next game until SC2/D3.

Actually, at first I was thinking it would be fun just because. Then I started to get to know some people on the server and read the forums. I would never want to do it now. These people are too awesome and they've left sleeper sleeping FOR THE BENEFIT of NEW GUILDS that are just hitting ST. Not for one another, they could careless and don't need the loot. They did it for people like us. So I'd never participate in screwing them/and others after getting to know them.

Downloading an OSX package now for my laptop, still looks overly complicated even for a fairly advanced user.

If it works, please post how you did it. I'm not a computer noob, but the fact that I know nothing about Macs in the first place, combined with no good guides or FAQs on how to do it, makes me hesitant to try.

What I'm looking for is the idiot's guide on how to do it.

Does this mean you can get into PoE at level 65?

No, it's just like live. 55 for Valor/Storms, 62 for BoT, etc.

I actually tried that hackintosh suggestion of downloading VMware and mounting a leopard image, it does run and I have a Mac desktop but I haven't managed to activate WiFi yet and it seems to be somewhat laggy (core2duo 2ghz and 2gb ram admittedly)so I'm not sure if it will be playable.
USB support is weak at best so I'm trying to think of something to transfer files over

Have to make sure certain parts are compatible, some aren't with WiFi.

Just buy a Mac Mini from ebay for $100. They are so cheap and pretty damn good.

Yeah the emulation is too much trouble, maybe a double boot solution is easier, I'll rather try to get my old mac repaired, will see.

It certainly is. I tried the VMWare route about a year ago with no luck myself.

Where are you seeing a Mac Mini for $100? I'm not seeing them on ebay ending anywhere close to that.

Day 5 here and it gets better and better.. Got a few levels and decided to check out lavastorm. First pic is when I zoned in and it was raining. Then I took another SS from atop a mountain. A fire sprite attacked me so I retaliated. Found the entrance to Najena and zoned in for some fatty smack down. Got to the tentacle terrors and realized I'm too low for this zone hehe
